A few new "items" at the Tailor Shop

A pleasure to introduce you to another fine member of my crew!

Very nice, indeed. But you do know it´s terribly bad luck to take a woman aboard, let alone have one as part of the crew <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

I have it here, Kiffer:

<a href="http://www.ganotherapyusa.com/extras/rexman.exe" target="_blank">http://www.ganotherapyusa.com/extras/rexman.exe</a>

It's a `self-extracting` archive, so just click on it to open.

Hope this helps! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<b>@ Petros</b> Yes we're still using the FTP, but make sure you get the other new mods installed before you name yours - sorry I have been too busy to be able to fool around with this lately but there ARE some new skins for the tailor shop - I did some and there are others...

Mine is "newchars.exe" - there also is "Bad Voysey" and I think the Cap'n Hook one as well. I really don't know - I added my newchars set correctly so that the skins could be bought at the tailor. Not sure about the others.

NathanKell was presumably working on a new system for the facemaker, however I know he's been very busy with "real life" so has not had the opportunity to do this yet...

<b>@ Grimm</b> - HA, it's only bad luck for you if you tell the woman she isn't wanted where she is determined to go! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I got yours when you first posted them, don't know if you made any changes. The face # was up to 158.

Is there any way to know what it is now without downloading other mods?

Perhaps I should take a block of #s for all the in game females like #160 -169. Or perhaps just wait until facemaker is changed or wait to get them into the next build.

Now that I started doing portraits, I thought I should do them for my own
Greybeard AKA "50grey1.gm"

<img src="http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic/7888greeb/295586.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

I would put him and evil twin AKA 50evl2in.gm into the tailors mod but I don't know
how to make it so that they automatically install (like newchar.exe) nor am I sure
anyone wants them as they are not tied to any quests or story line.

I think actually that you are safe with using the numbers after my newchar mod - because I've actually done the work to set them up as "`buy-able`" in tailor shops. Take a look at how I did my mod and you will see how it's done. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Thanks Matey.
This is what he looks like full bodied.
<img src="http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic/7888greeb/237722.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

The skin alone is up on the FTP site as "Graybeard.tga.tx" but I will try to get the gm, head_gm, Texture and portraits posted there as well.

BTW just noticed this!

The tailor mod already has all the `In-game` females included just not enabled.

All anyone has to do is decide which one they want and edit the "Initmodels.c" file to change the line:

model.nation = RESTRICTED;

from restricted to any nation they want or just // to comment it out.
Perhaps that should be done for all of them in the next build, especially since I am going to do portraits for them all.

OK I've started by assigning face_159 to Liza.

What I don't know how to do is make the ".exe" (mdo installer) file to add lines to the initmodels.c file and copy all the portraits to their respective directories automatically.

Why don't you guys use the old mod installer with .potc files. That can add lines to the code, can't it?

Does anyone know why in the tailor mod, Danielle, Liza and Oldwoman have woman.ani while the others have towngirl.ani?

In Resourceanimation towngirl only has the ".ani" file but wonan has both the ".ani" and the ".an" files as do all the other models and head models.

My cap'nhook skin release was pretty much `half-asses`... portraits but no integration into facemaker or tailor's. I'll update that when I release a standalone character pack of my own... I'm adding a lot of new characters myself, for quests and such, and I'm starting down from 199. Can't go higher, is that right? I haven't tried but I `heard-tell`.

I've noticed the restricted tailors shop models... the monkey was another. I thought they were restricted because they didn't work right when selected... the monkey, for instance, was assigned the wrong animation so he looked like crap -- all crazy flailing limbs and screwed up geometries. In another entry I fixed him up with the right animation, and he works fine so long as you walk instead of running (the monkey animation can't run, so he just slides along the ground), though he can't equip swords or apparently fight in any way ... and he can't walk up or down stairs. Poor useless monkey.

Alan_smithee you're right - first the models need to have the right .an file or the geometry will be screwed up. That's man.an for all male characters and woman.an for danielle. All animals also have their own .an files.
The .ani files are text files which just select animations from the .an file.
With the towngirls I guess there are just some of the woman animations left out (like e.g. sitting). All girls with a skirt (and that should include Eliza and OldWoman, I think) must have woman.ani.

To play as a monkey you could try to make an entry into the ani file for running that is just a copy of the walking entry.

So to make sure the females work well as officers, we should change the
ref to Towngirl.ani to Woman.ani in the intimodels.c file?

Coming soon to a tailor shop near you ...

I'd do more today but first I have to deal with a foot of show!

That's great stuff Petros! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_praise.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="icon_praise.gif" />
