<b>Question(s):</b> How hard would it be to trash the entire mission set and replace it? Are the missions especially difficult to create, outside of the concepts and dialogs? Could replacement "sets" be made that could be interchanged without reeking too much havok on the mod?

For example, could a handy system be made where you could choose starting characters to give missions, land and/or sea targets that can be placed at certain locations, and allow dialogs to be created for various places along the way like <i>initial briefing</i>, <i>arrival at mission point</i>, <i>interaction with target</i> where aplicable, and <i>completion</i>?

I bring up many annoying points for someone with zero programing ability I confess <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> but I really think expanding the missions aspect of the game is in many ways the most important way to make it better and replayable. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" />

I started my adventure with PotC modding with the similar question - I wanted add some new missions for various nations. In my opinion a good created and varied scenarios would be interesting, even though they all would start at Oxbay, later meeting Danielle and Clement and finally at Khael Roa battle. Unfortunately, I decided to postpone this idea and add some improvements to the game, which was much less time consuming. This state of adding improvements is still in progress, for about half of year. As I didn't create any new quests (except one when I was learning PotC code only for my personal use as it was extremely stupid - Nathaniel had to take a superior spyglass from Robin Hood at Oxbay Port then sail to Redmond to give it to Little John to get 1000000 gold pieces and learn that the Lugger CT which they bought at Archipelago sank and there's no hope to defeat Gisburn fleet) I suppose is more time consuming and requires more work than current fight with CTDs and other bugs.

Sincerelly

Avast thar pirate_kk, if'n them thar "spyglass" mission be sew rewardin, methinks it be only fittin tew be addin it tew this ere build........it zounds like a real challenge it do, and might make fer an interestin beginnin.......maybe's the names could use some tunin, say that the Admiral in Redmond needs the new Spyglass tew be better at spottin the new French Invasion Fleet that be headin his way after the fall of Oxbay....that would be workin fine!! But otherwise, I could sure do with that thar amount of money at the first of the game, right smartly

I think that would be pretty hard and a lot of work. Making a program that can more-or-less auto-generate them would be great, but writing such a program is far from easy. I, for one, wouldn't have the slightest idea how to... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I don't want to remove the current quests from the game. I am all for adding more though. None of the added quests need to replace old ones; they can all be added. And if the Patriots and Emperor's mod is being made, those new quests will not need to replace the current ones either. You should just be able to choose which quest you'll play. And, if possible, you should be able to play all the quests in the same game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
