This group always has and will always be a shitposting group, and as such should not be seen as a "safe space" or a "___-friendly" group. Our modmins make every effort to remove PERSONAL attacks, but we cant remove everything that bothers someone, otherwise there would be no content left.

1. Play Nice
Degrading comments about an individuals race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated. Shitposting is encouraged, not personal opinions disguised as memes.

2. Please keep content fresh and A:TLE related!
If your submission gets denied chances are it's either a repost, or not relevant to the movie/universe itself. Posts about merchandise, posters, etc will be declined due to the sheer amount of them.

3. Speak (mostly) English.
As the vast majority of members only speak English it's only fair to present content in a way the majority can enjoy. Absolutely celebrate the diversity of language, but don't spam it to excess.

4. No reporting. No exceptions.
Reporting gets pages zucced, we dont need that. If you have a real issue that you really cannot scroll past - tag an admin. If you repeatedly use the report button you WILL be removed.

5. No pornographic or sexually explicit images.
We get it - you're horny, but this is not the place for explicit images. This rule relates specifically to images, you can still discuss a characters sexuality to your horny little heart's content.

6. Respect everyone's privacy.
Personal things shared in the group should stay in the group. Doxxing or sharing information, posts, etc from personal profiles will get you removed from the group.

7. Respect the modmins and their decisions.
Contrary to popular belief, we're only human. We have jobs, families and lives too. Don't attack or slander the mods for doing things differently to how you would have, or at a different pace, or whatever else. We're volunteering our time for you.

8. *** Tab Appreciation Posting ***
We all love Tab, and we often get 50+ posts a day in regards to posters etc! Please keep all posts regarding this in the Tab thread (in the announcements) to avoid spamming the group.

All of a sudden:

Guess I've been immediately banned.
No surprises there.
I had a quick look at the "modmins" and none of them sounded particularly like the most open-minded of individuals.

Good thing I saved what happened there here instead.

It still hurts.
It's absolutely disgusting what those two pulled on me.
And now, not only do I feel bitter when thinking about one of my former feel-good films;
I have yet more reason to feel bitter about my own boat.
As if I didn't already have enough reasons for that!

Well the film is something separate to that community.
I can think of only one way to negate what happened, watch it again.

It must be noted that I haven't had anything of the sorts happen to me, and I tend to separate the actual product from communities.
So this may not work.

It's easier to "let things go" when it's only a few things.
But when they stack up as they've done for me over the past great many years...?

I have been thinking about this and I have an idea.
What if we form a replacement to that problematic community? Giving you more new positive links to Atlantis.

For now I have this in mind:
I will watch the movie, and once I do we will be able to have our own fun with it.
No stupid bans in the mix.

I had indeed been pondering making a new subforum called "Pirates of Atlantis",
which... it so happens... was one of the actual original potential titles for the film.

There's no point in fighting injustice. It doesn't work.
It just leads to more injustice.
Only option I know of is to move on and do better...
Somehow.

I agree that this would be a good idea.
Also approve of the name, especially knowing it's background.

As for fighting injustice this is the best way I can see. Make your own just place to replace the old one.

It was interesting there last year when actual creators of the film were sharing cool background stuff in it.

Turned into "the Tab Murphy show" though.

For example when I was a kid I would have never thought that I could potentially pass questions to Akella, even if indirectly. But we can do it, Volodymyr is proof of it.

It's been an odd thing...
It's not every day you yourself get a Facebook friend request from the scriptwriter of one of your famed childhood movies.
Even less so to later get a message; and eventually a signed poster delivered to your home.
Which happened; all of it.

He's been doing that A LOT for A LOT of different people.
I took it as his attempt at bringing some happiness and cheer into the world during these obnoxious Covid times.
Some people were joking that he was "recruiting people for his own cult".

Just "knowing more things" for me always feels quite empty.
I wished there were something could be BUILT on that knowledge.

That's why right before being banned, I had suggested pulling all together and making an "Atlantis game" of sorts.
Mix PA! and Atlantis together, so to say...

He does seem to be pretty good at getting in contact with people.
I just wished there weren't that obnoxious barrier between "Russians" and "English-speakers".
