Akella's Contribution in Decline

Seabro, and others, I understand completely why you say that paying monthly fees adds to the game because there is money for new development - and that is a good thing! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

My PERSONAL objection to MMO's that charge monthly fees is merely because I usually don't have the $ to part with to keep up my fees, and a lot of times I don't have the TIME to spend playing if I DO pony up the bucks. I hate to pay money for something that expires before I get a chance to use it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> My work life could change overnight, and time could become quite dear... So it's just not practical for me to pay money for something I might not have any time to play - now if they charged me by the actual time I spend online, that might be a better solution for me. (of course, that would be completely unacceptable for those people who play online 25 hours a day, eight days a week!) <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

The demo of PotBS that I saw at E3 looked AWESOME! I generally don't play MMO's because of the fees, but I DO want a look at this one because I was VERY impressed by the gameplay and looks.

I wish KOEI's Uncharted Waters Online was available for English-speaking audiences because that's another one that I'd like to explore.

We shall see what happens with Akella. I sure hope it's not more of the same dirty business we saw with Bethesda and Disney.

Console gaming is HUGE - and I see why they'd want to get into the market... Here's hoping they don't COMPLETELY abandon us PC users... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Amen! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" />

With all due respect, but what did you expect from Akella's PR people? That's it - they've transferred the matter into PlayLogic's hands and it looks like it's a 'hands tied' thing from now on for them.

I'm not trying to defend Akella - they've ruined their image with this POTC garbage - but the situation looks more or less natural to me.

well, honestly i would have thought they would have given me a contact. Both myself and william have tried to get in touch with them, but they never reply. You know Akella could have helped to be a bit of a bridge for us....to much to ask i quess
