Ahoy there one and all,
After being away for close on a year, well it feels like a year anyways, I have returned once again to POTC. I have downloaded B14 A9, is there anything else I need to download ?

You do need some more... Build 14 Alpha 9.5 and Build 14 Alpha 9.5 Patch 1, to be exact. <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?s=&showtopic=13163&view=findpost&p=315554" target="_blank">See here</a> and the subsequent post.
I'll admit the installation process has become fairly longwinded. Again. But eventually we'll be making a simpler Alpha 10 installer. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I'll be looking forward to hearing what you think of our recent work. It's not quite finished, but pretty playable and I'm already quite proud of it, truth be told. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Downloading them now & after tweaking a few things ( As Usual..lol ) I'll check it out. It's good to be back into the swing of things. I'm looking forward to it all actually.

On a lighter note, I am in fact directly related to Fletcher Christian the pirate. he is my great great great grandfather...lol.

I was actually suggesting a couple of days ago that there should be a Fletcher Christian character in the game,
considering we do have HMS Bounty and a character named Lieutenent Bligh. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
In my absence from POTC I worked on my Famly Tree. I knew my Great Grandfather was born on Norfolk Island and when I researched him I found out that Fletcher Christian was my Great Great Great Grandfather.

As a kid growing up I had heard that there was a rumour that he was a relation, but when I pressed the matter I was told to hush...lol.
It seems that the " Family " didn't want to be reminded about their Pirate Past...lol.
Even last year when I once again asked was he related to me I was told that the family didn't think so. But in my search for my Great Grandfather's history I came across some information that inspired me to delve further into the Old Pirate.
Compared to some of the other colourful characters that make up my Family Tree, Fletcher Christian is a saint...lol.
When I explained that Fletcher wasn't as bad as the family once thought, especially when he stacked up against people that were murderers, thieves, cattle duffers & even politicians, being a pirate wasn't so bad as far as the family once thought.

After reading about him & finding out that I am directly linked to him, which in turn makes me a direct descendant of Norfolk Island & Pitcairn island, it has inspired me to write a book on Pirates. It will of course be fiction ( So I don't upset any relos...lol ).

At this point in time I am not sure whether I will work on it or finish the other book ( My 2nd ) that I've been working on for the last 12 months.
Afterall it took me 5 yrs to write the 1st book & I've yet to send it to the publishers...lol

So I am relaxing & getting back into POTC, before I decide what book I will work on.

Pieter, yeah i see Thag is doing a great job on the frontpage so I thought Id see how it's all going in the forum.

Will make a post or 2 in the admi area soon about the next IPB release.
