It may not be obvious at first, but any sporecast can be used to include a theme to your Spore game, simply select the sporecast during your game startup {hidden on the right of the planet}

As with any sporecast, often the tags don't work properly, so the easiest way to find within your Spore game is to search by the author's name.

In this case its

The game goes from one celled creatures all the way to space faring races, Deep One. The design tools changed depending on what stage of the game you are in.

The stages are as follows:

Stage 1 = Primordial Soup Phase = One celled to multi celled creatures that simply eat, grow and mutate. Designer affects only your creature.

Stage 2 = Creature Phase = Your creature leaves the ocean and starts walking on land, the creatures are still developing thier final look and design features. Designer changes to allow more options to your creature design.

Stage 3 = Tribal Phase = Your creatures have finished thier development and are now tribal creatures. Designer no longer affects your creatures, but instead modifies the clothing they wear.

Stage 4 = Civilization Phase = Having become the dominant race, you now move to the technological phase of the game, where you must take over your planet. Designer now allows creation of Buildings, Vehicle(Land and Sea only initially).

Stage 5 = Space Colonizaton Phase = You've finally taken over your planet. Now on to the Universe. And according to Will Wright, there are approximately 50,000 or so random planets in any game of Spore. New content is taken from other players uploaded content.

Hope that helps explain things....

And if you hadn't figured it out Rupert. I LOVE spore.

Ah I see now, thanks Cap'n Drow.

So you essentially (and ironically <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> ) play 'god' in the darwinian evolution of your created species, then play Sims with the species.

My Spores are Dargabella, Dobsaurus, Garbodalus, Glibbleblop, Megalohominid and Pteraptoralis.

Don't know if any of my creatures are in the sporeopedia or not yet.

exactly one of them is on the pedia Lord Drow

Play while online, you'll get more out of this game.

somebody noticed one of my creations and it got featured - don't ask me how or <u>why</u> - I'm more partial to "Fat Boy" the A-Bomb space ship

Its an economic air (yes it flies)

had fun making an armored pea series of vehicles today.
<img src="http://ll-850.ea.com/spore/static/thumb/500/124/850/500124850795.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://ll-647.ea.com/spore/static/thumb/500/124/647/500124647280.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />

also made a short series of "Spode's Great Eggs" (if you play this game, you'll realise that there's nothing normal about Spode, explaining the shape - and why they're fried.)

Pretty much you have a good idea of the game. Its actually quite fun shepherding your creature through its evolution.

Best moment in Spore so far was whilst at the Creature stage. A UFO flew over and started abducting other creatures. What got me though was that the ship was "Liberator" from Blake's 7! Later I found it crashed into the side of a hill.....

OK - so you're probably all too young to know what the hell I'm talking about, but it made my jaw drop open.... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

There are Star Trek and Doctor Who Spore-user-creations around too but none have graced my game yet.
