9 more days now is it? Its probably going to get delayed so don't hold your breath!
I have a feeling this games not gonna be worth the wait, but there's at least a little glimmer of hope.
 
Well I tried putting a pre-order in for COAS at Gamestop. Unfortunately they weren't taking anymore pre-orders but the fella said that no one had placed one either. He said call the day its supposed to be released and if they have one they'll hold it for me. But at most I think they might get one or two copies in. However, I don't think it was even listed on their computers or shipment list.(although it is listed on there web site)

So I don't know. I hope they did order a couple of copies. If not I wonder where it can be purchased. Can it be purchased straight from the Publisher?

The game itself or the access to it? It appears to me like the publicity, availability and possibly also the security and moddability suck.
But the game itself could still be good.
 
wait so this game will not have a direct sailing system? you guys made one for potc but akella have not bothered to make one 2 generations later! if you modder made a system like that why cant akella do it. they have an open source code engine thingy and all that crap.. you guys must be some genius pirate modders or something..
 
Let's put it this way; I don't know for a fact that CoAS <i>doesn't</i> have a DirectSail system.
What I do know is that Mr. Zaitsev said that it wasn't possible with this game engine,
because it'd take too much memory to load ALL the islands at once.

Of course we didn't actually do that at all; we just reload to the next island once you get near.
I did tell him of what we did for it and maybe... just maybe... they tried to include this in CoAS too. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

And some of our modders indeed ARE geniuses. CouchcaptainCharles in this case; he originally made that mod.
And then Screwface and Hook further improved upon it.

The way Playlogic has marketed ....errr ...NOT marketed this game, I doubt aside form us die hard fans there will be that many people buying it. Actually Fred Bob, the M might help sales, even if there might not be that much adult content in the game. Tell someone they can't do something, watch something or play a game because of the content, and they are more likely to want to do just that to find out what exactly is in it. I know that certainly got me into a lot of trouble! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
