Interesting, to say the least. Sounds like they are aggressively acquiring games that will go or are console (lots of money backing them), and there is something about games on demand, too... Here's an article from their site regarding the guy who seems to be the ONE TO KNOW:

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Stefan Layer, former VP Licensing Europe at Atari, moves to Playlogic 11-04-2005

Amsterdam, 11 April 2005 – As of April 1st 2005, industry veteran Stefan Layer has joined Playlogic International as COO/Vice President Sales, Marketing and Licensing. Stefan has been working in the games industry for over ten years of which the last six years he has spent at Atari. His last position there was as Vice President Licensing Europe.

After graduated with an Economics (BA) in 1995, Stefan first started working in the games business at CDV Software AG in Germany as Key Account Manager and Sales Director. Most recently he has been working for Atari Europe, where he started in 1999 as Business Development Manager.

Stefan will be responsible for Playlogic’s Sales, Licensing and Marketing departments. In this role he will setup the Playlogic’s licensing strategy, create strategic co-operations with distribution partners and acquire third party products.

Furthermore, Stefan will expand Playlogic’s value chain by entering new markets and optimizing exploitation of properties such as purchase by download, games on demand, interactive TV and mobile games.

Stefan Layer: “I am glad to be part of the Playlogic team. Playlogic is a company that is able to move quickly and prides itself on its adaptive ability to market conditions and business opportunities. This enables me to develop and implement some creative and entrepreneurial solutions, to optimize the value chain. We are researching all possibilities with regard to bringing a digital entertainment product to the consumer.”

Willem M. Smit, CEO: “Stefan has a huge network, strong industry knowledge and he creates business development initiatives and opportunities that perfectly fit within Playlogics strategy.”

Actually I'm happy that it is no big Publisher like EA or something!

The bigger the publisher, the more crappy is the Support (EA ***** big time)! Its often the small and new ones with the good support.

Best support so far comes from NC Soft (City of Heroes and Guild Wars are some of the the games they publish).

And Blizzard is nice too. Even though they are under Vivendi Universal they have their own room. They are at the moment quite underpowered in men considering how much people play WoW, but nontheless the support for their Games is great (they make still patches for Starcraft and Diablo2)
