AOP to release with POTC2?

Anyone else here think that AOP is holding out until just bvefore the release of the new potc game?

I mean since they were well aware of the huge sales they got before, there is a chance that aop could ride on the back as an "alternative" and more realistic potc2?


What do you guys think?

I'd say that's a strong possibility considering that they keep setting the release date back.

Doesin't the main page say that they recently found someone to publish the game in North America? Wouldnt that mean that it will take a few months though, maybe like an end of year release.

As I mentioned in other posts: don't believe the dates online stores post. It will definately not be June, and it might even not make July. I am sorry to say this, but we have to rely on our partner setting the appropriate date on when he feels comfortable releasing the game, while also incorporating feedback from the retailers, who ultimately order the game for a time they think suits them best.
Publishers and Distributors tend to avoid the summer months, as business is very low around this time of year and a lot less games are bought.

Well, there are 2 common census here:

1) The Russian release was buggy and people got miffed. PlayLogic confirms some critical bugs and decided to hold off to fix some things.

2) POTC comes out with 2 games for the end of June, Dead Man's Chest and Legend of Jack Sparrow.

However, I COMPLETELY do not agree with the statement that the summer is a horrible time to buy games and I'm serious when I stated this on my front page post, EbGames and Gamestop have been frickin' busy! The ones at least in my town, and the ones I have visited while hanging out in San Diego (where my family lives) have a ton of people in there buying just about anything.

Not to mention, they stand a better shot at getting the game out WHILE there is a rush on this type of title. Regardless of whether there are POTC games out or not, there are pirate games out, and a pirate movie coming out ... Put the damn title out there ... I bet you it will sell better. If the game has a flaw, I can understand the delay, but if the delay is because "Games don't sell in the summer" then bite me. It's a flawed statement.

What's even worse is if they try to hold off until the Christmas season. Let's see there will be a lot of video games released for that season with more selling power, and if AOP:CT is released them I bet you dollars to pesos the amount of coverage it will get in the stores will be little to nothing. Major brand games have made a trend out of this, it doesn't mean your small title will fair as well in the same trend.
