Is it still possible (in build12) to gain armor with wearing a soldier's uniform ?
I'm playing as a French soldier and my uniform are just looking good....

The only armor you can have in B12 is the armor that you buy at the tailor when you purchase a soldier skin that is wearing it (Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese). I wish it was different (back to the old way where you could equip armor you buy but it doesn't show on your model - but you could buy it for ANY skin... Looks like no one has noticed this.

Some time ago I noticed that if you buy and enable a soldier skin, and then go back to your civvies, you still have armor protection.

Just look at the log while your fighting and you will see," Blocked by armor" and "Reduced by armor" messages. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Actually I did notice that, Petros... The other thing I noticed is that the armor that way doesn't seem to do a lot of good... I mentioned it to Nathan, and he was going to take a look at it. Then "real life" (whatever THAT is!) (heh!) got busy for him, so he's not been around...

I think you only get the MESSAGE but not the protection. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

I've used Spanish armor.
I noticed a difference between Spa "Plain and cheep..." and Spa6 "yet another ..." and Lucas' armor beats them all.

I give my officers armor and then give them their orig. skins back.
It has made a difference in how long officers survive and how much potion they need to drink. (great for long boardings)

I might think the protection is not great if one plays on Swashbuckler.
