removing the locators ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Is there no code for removing these soldiers I could put in the quest_reactions.c during the Bartolomeu Mission ?

I have to check that Eleuthera location. If it's indeed purely random soldiers, then I'm not sure what to do code-wise.
You might be able to decrease the maximum number of characters in the location somehow.
Alternatively, we might need to do some actual recoding of the random character generation.
Probably we'd need to do that at some point anyway to have models, dialogs, weapons, money and character levels actually be consistent.

About this Bartolomeu quest, I will use many locations on Eleuthera as I did for the 'Santiago' quest in Guadeloupe : Alice Town, Plantation, Eleuthera town and finally the fort. I don't want to tell much but this quest will have some consequences on the Assassin Main quest too <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Sounds nice. Now if we'd actually have the shadow files for all those locations... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

it seems we need to create some new .COL files for that location. As for the time bombs, they 'existed'. A long fuse (slow match) connected to a quick match. (Hornblower and the Hotspur <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />)

Yep, that's what I was thinking of too for the time bomb. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

We do have COL-files, though they appear to be of the 12-hour type instead of the morning/day/night/storm type.
However, missing shadow textures are worse because now the ground is simply GRAY! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />

I have just visited the fort location; that really IS a cool location model!
I especially like the size of it and you actually have to walk around a corner and then see the fort appear. Pretty tasteful, that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

As for the soldiers, it appears that they're not random at all, which makes things a lot simpler for you.
They're just defined in the Eleuthera character init file, so you can just take the character ID of some of them and change their address to "none".
It's indeed a lot of soldiers and if they all come running at you at once...! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

I do note that this fort is NOT like the other (fake) forts and the soldiers don't mind the player's presense there at all.
Should we give this fort the fake fort features too? Might be a bit hard with the incredible amounts of soldiers there though.
And in that case, the soldiers DO become random, which makes it harder again to remove some of them.
Unless you use a copied quest location during the quest, in which case you're again not using the fake fort functionality. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Could be the best solution to add only the characters I want. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Anyway, look the <i>Rock</i> video I put in Filefront <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<a href="http://hosted.filefront.com/dasise/" target="_blank">http://hosted.filefront.com/dasise/</a>

The video is awesome. Too bad the music doesn't fit ingame <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> :p

Nice video! The "mission impossible" music is funny, though I don't much case for the song. Any chance you could find some more appropriate music...? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
If you need pirate movie music, there's PLEEENTY of the Files FTP in the "Pieter Pirate Music" folder.

<b>Edit:</b> LOL! Thomas and I posted pretty much the same thing at the same time. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I used this music to make something a bit original and to change of the same kind of pirate song we can hear in the game but no problem if you want I can put something more<i> classical</i>

It's certainly original and I like the idea; just not the song and the hard-rock element.
But the "Mission Impossible" theme in there is certainly funny and as far as I'm concerned, you can keep that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

If I understand I could keep the "Mission Impossible" music but in a more <i>classical</i> version, right ?<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

As far as I'm concerned, yes. As long as it's not too modern-sounding, it should work, I think. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I tried to find a classical one but I didn't succeed at the moment.... U2, Metallica, Limp Bizkit, remix and so on.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Could you (or Thomas) find this music and upload it <u>in this topic</u> (not in the FTP files please) ?

How about attached one? It's from the rejected Alan Silvestri soundtrack for the first Mission Impossible movie,
so with a bit of luck it's at least a bit different from what people usually hear. Though it still sounds fairly similar.
I just played that track synchronously with your movie and it works brilliantly.
The music reaches it's crescendo right on that close-up of Bartolomeu's face near the end; great timing! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

Also, I must say your movies are really well-done! You do a good job of selecting the camera angles to explain the story
and you also make good use of the random animations to make it appear like the character IS acting. Impressive! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Thanks Pieter for your comments. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> I've just downloaded your file. Monday or Tuesday I will release a version with this new music.

I would like the following, <b>If Damski62 and Thomas have time for that</b> :

A new skin for Gener_fra_16 : burnt and covered with blood for the outfit back. (Thomas)

A Gener_fra_16 model with missing parts of his body (hand, foot or even head). (Damski62)

LOL! He comes falling out of the sky again! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />
Is that movie to be used in the quest? If so, are you going to upload a higher resolution version later...? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

BTW: Can we think of any place ingame where we can use your Bartolomeu quest trailer?
