Attacked Greenford Fort last night - pear shaped result

Hengist

Landlubber
I forgot to drop Danny off at the lighthouse.

Attacked the Fort, then went into Greenford, all was quiet.

Dropped Danny off at the Lighthouse and went back to Greenford, a small scrap took place.

However Danny is now in the Tavern and just stands there, I think she's supposed to tell me something at this point, but she just keeps on standing there. So I got bored and ransacked Oxbay Fort and village. I went back to Greenford Tavern, and she's still just standing there... I take it that ther PotC programming design methodology has reared it's head and struck again? Don't you just love programming by flow charts lol? Bring on the Jackson Structured Programming Methodology <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Is it a case of restarting and doing the script again in the correct order, not that I mind as it was rather enjoyable.

Yes, go back to a recent save and try it again in the correct order. There should have been a "check" in the script to prevent this, and I suppose this is another of those times when rushing the game development creates another problem down the line that betatesting would have probably ironed out! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Maybe someone (Nathan, are ya there?) can write a check for this to prevent it from happening again? I'd try it but I've been immensely busy lately betatesting the new Pirates! game. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

If you don't have an earlier save to go back to, I can probably rescue your current one. But I think rewriting this particular script isn't something I can tackle at the moment I'm afraid (it's not I believe a bug so much as inflexible structure as you both mention).

Well, I suppose you have a point there, Nathan. You could make the check in one line, but it would take writing a bit of dialog and making it so that when you arrive where you are not supposed to be, you either come to that conclusion yourself (a "bright idea", LOL!) or someone reminds you... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
