Attacking Greenford

I got to the part where you have to apture Greenford inorder to free the old guy (can't remember his name) but when I get into my ship and go attack it my cannons don't do any damage to the fort. How can I fix this??

Number one, his name is Clement Armatius, and number two, sail closer to the fort. If you can, get as close as possible.

EDIT: It didn't work. By the time I get realy close anyways they've taken out half my health. My brother didn't have any trouble with this, but this is the second time this has happened to me in the two times I've tried to pass this game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

This may or may not help. Manually fire your ship cannon's and target the fort cannon's, not the wall. That is how I have taken the fort in the past.

I have a corvette. And I tried aiming myself but it does no good. I'll see if it works with a battleship, if I can find one.

I got a battleship and destroyed the fort.

Good for you. Did you ever capture, not sink, capture the English frigate "Arabella" that had the idol on board? That's what I did.
