Axes

Will these axes be available in the upcomin' Build 13?!

I hope so sounds very interestin' if ya ask me...
 
Not sure. I'll add them when they don't introduce new bugs and gameplay issues. I don't think they should cause troubles; they're just new items, so I should be able to add them in without any trouble.
 
I just need to finish off their descriptions and then I'll pack 'em up and put 'em on the ftp.

I've tweaked a little more and these are the stats I'll be using.

BLADE Rarity, Level, Price, Min. Dmg, Max. Dmg, Pierce, Block.

Hatchet 0.90 1 250 5 18 20 0
Axe 0.37 6 750 8 26 40 0
Boarding Axe 0.25 9 1000 10 30 50 5

I've finished everything else, just checking it all now, and am about to pack it all up and put on the ftp. Should be up in the next half hour.

I have done this axes thingy a year ago and personally asked AlexusB for permission to use this...I posted it but nobldy listen...now, for me its old... by the good job <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Pieter asked AlexusB for permission to use SLiB resources for the Build, sometime late last year I think. AlexusB said yes, no problem, just so long as we gave due credit. I've modded a number of things from the SLiB mod now, and in the coding or read me files have always credited the SLiB mod as the source.

Did you mod axes for your Build game, back then? Hello Jack Davidsson or someone else. The axes are working fine but when I try to place an axe on a randitem locator the model will not show up. (Replaced the saber on the chest in tutorial cabin as a test)
Anyone has an idea of in what way axes models differ from blades? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
 
Hi Jack,

I'm thinking that maybe it has something to do with there not being GM files for axes in RESOURCE/MODELS/Items which seems to be where models for items found in loctions come from. There seems to be only a small number of representitive blade models in this folder. Axes didn't have separate models for this folder when I modded them over. Whether using the same model from RESOURCE/MODELS/Ammo works in Items, I'm not sure? It's worth a try...I'll have a look myself, too.

I frequently pick up items that were not visible, so it should be possible to pick up items that don't have a model in the items folder. I'm not even sure if the files in the items folder are still used. It might have been changed, but I'm not sure... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
The axe is obtainable without a visible model. No problem. Tried with the gm model copied to Items. No difference. Not really important - just eye candy. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
