Back From The Dead In CoAS

I'm looking for Pablo Barades and John Workman and no one in town knows them. I backtracked through old saved games and they used to be there and recognized. The only thing I can figure is that when the San Gabriel guys took the fight onto the decks of various ships....both of those guys got themselves killed.

Any way to bring them back to life just long enough to help get me off the island? Unless someone knows a way to advance the story line without them.
