Bad pirate relations

Stinky

Landlubber
I searched quite a bit, but couldn't find anything about it.

Here it is:
I did quite some quests before I really continued with the main quest. Right now I've got a score of -102 in my relation with the pirates.
Every time I enter some kind of pirate village, people will start to attack me very soon. When I get into the pirate village on Quabradas Costillas it depends, sometimes they don't attack immediatly, but when I enter the tavern everybody is hiding, and affraid of me.
This is pretty difficult, because I have to talk to the bartender women there, and aks her if she knows where Rheims is.

Is it because of my relationship with the pirates that everybody is attacking me very quick in the pirates village, or is it some kind of bug?

How can I become friends with the pirates again?

Tx!

it has nothing to do with it at all. in fact, i think it's just a simple coincidence that you get attacked every time. it is indeed true that when you get attacked and you kill the wrong person, almost everyone in the city gets hostile towards you.

No, it's not some sort of random attack. It's really like every time!
I'm trying this now:

And it works exactly the way discribed.

Thank you very much for such a great forum, and mod!

I'm still wondering how I could improve my relations with the pirates. Somebody got some kind of tip for me?

Cheers

Two thoughts for this one :
Thought No 1: Have you tried raising the pirate flag before landing? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
Thought No 2: The Old Woman does not tell you squat - when you go back outside the tavern ... (I won't spoil it for you) ... but try it ... don't go wandering off too fast though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

and especially: DO NOT use fast ravel while doing a quest or just after! you might miss an encounter. hoisting the pirate flag is only usefull at tortuga or turk island. at QC, just sink the pirate ships and land. no problems at all. done it tons of times.

What do you mean exactly with fast ravel?

Got another problem now, again with talking. When following Danielle to Isla Muella in the main quest you've got to talk to the priest in the church. However since the last priest was kidnapped the new priest won't ever talk to me. Somebody got a clue?

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> You have to go to that small island of Isla Muelle to find him.
When playing the Mefisto quest during the Mainquest, you'll get that!
Always play the Mainquest before,and yes, it's a bug!!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

oh, fast travel is hit "R" fast and "G" superfast!

Ah, I understand fast travel, think the 't' fell off <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" />

I went to the small Island, but the priest wasn't there anymore...

Am I stuck forever now? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

is there some piece of code which will allow me to place the priest just somewhere so I can talk to him?

Thanks!

Wish I had better news! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Argh, just bought a new ship! Hope I still have that save. Played the game before, a downloaded version without the Mod. It was so very buggy that I learned myself to save, well, often! Got the original version with the Mod now, and it's faaaaaar from being that buggy, but I still save quite often...

Well, maybe I should play from the start again. Will take me some time to get the 8 million 'gold' back, but might be funny :p

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> That's all the FUN! I've played this game since
early 2004, so it better be FUN!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

nosie, fast travel is accessed through the 'enter' menu, as you know. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> but pressing G or R could indeed cause problems as well.

what i find really strange is that i never had any problems with that quest at all. EVER. with or without the main quest. the only problem that i'm having is that the animists don't equip their daggers so they don't attack me, but that bug is well-known. the trick is to precisely follow all the isntructions by reading the dialogue and your questbook after each update to it.
