Need Help Battle chat interface

How do i disable the battle chat interface to avoid the no-boarding bug?

In general, is there any other solution to this bug besides a new game and the hope to never encounter it again?

I can't say if it works or not, but apparently there is a fix for this, however you would use it at your own risk as no one from the GOF team have tested it and confirmed it fixes the problem and is compatable with GOF 1.2's other features. Its not compatable with the GOF 1.3 Beta patch,.

So far (1 year gameplay) no problems! I just have to work around some situations (for example i can't bribe an enemy to leave me alone on the sea).

The code for the ship surrender and its features needs to be removed and looked into, we need a coder to go over it and implement that in a better way because i think its conflicting with some other code or something.
