hi peeps been playing POTC for many months with differing mods installed and this game just gets better
and better.

but what i would like to implement into my game is a log of ships boarded or sunk

like

Name of Ship Class Type Nationality Boarded/Sunk Capt Captured/Killed

in a table format

would like to do it myself but havent got a clue about modding (willing to learn)
with the right guidance if you get me meaning

This seems like a good idea. What will you do about the duplicate ship names that keep appearing?
 
im guessing that there isnt alot i can do

as they are randomly generated

but if there is a file containing ship names
i could add more ship names

but as i said earlier i cant do this i
will need serious guidance

if someone tells me the file name ill add loads of ship names.

i have sat down with an old World war ii naval book and added all the names of ships into the file

see if it works

now i just need to do the other bit somehow

but as Great Britain had the Largest Fleet of the time it is british ship names that have increased

ill see if it works

hmm i wonder if its possible to create a set of names that only end up for the english warships?

HMS Interceptor
HMS Rose
HMS Surprise
HMS Victory

and so forth

i wouldnt know about that but the names i added

i have come across a couple of the ones i put in so it does work

just need some one to create the battle log for me if there is anyone who
is willing to do it.
 
after a couple of days

i have added all major ships from most of the super powers

i made the Japs and the Yanks Pirates

if anyone wants a copy of the file let me know i can email it to you

I think the file is on the public FTP now. I had a look at it, but found tere are several names in there that seem a bit... odd. Like Dutch ships having Russian names. Plus shipnames like "USS Something". Could you please remove these weird names from the list? have updated the Ship name file yet again

all ships added taken from <a href="http://www.sailingwarships.com/" target="_blank">http://www.sailingwarships.com/</a>

will again up it to FTP and have also sent you a copy pieter

I wonder if I might make a suggestion or two. I think deleting the USS is a good idea and also deleting some obviously modern ships like those named after US states, the Titanic and Lusitania and maybe the Japanese ships would be appropriate given the game is set in the 17th century.
