Beginning Mod question

Hey, I'm looking to start editing some of the files, from the forums for everyting I want to play around with the files im being told to edit are all in the /program folder, such as
program\characters\ characters_init.c or officers.c etc. However I have no such folder, I do have program.dat, is this something I can extract to make that folder and its contents (if so what could I use to do this) or perhaps because I have the US release? I'm currently patched to 1.42. Any inputs would be appreciated, thanks.

Out of curiousity, has anyone had success uninstalling and using the crack? I'll probably try it tonight so I'll post if i have any success.

It should be in your main directory

ex: c:/playlogic/age of pirates - Caribbean tales/program

ye could download Cyberops Supermod, he says he took all the goodstuff outta patch, and No Starforce crap, and yes you will have access to Folders for editing, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

alternatively patch to 1.5 coz a lot of stuff is fixed in that (or at least for me) and its all put into files you can edit in notepad.
