Black Pearl

Anthony

Landlubber
I think that a fantastic job has been done on the black pearl up to now however the only thing i would say is wrong is that the deck and masts arn't black, i would like to know why, is it possible? It must be possible because on the flying dutchman the deck and masts are the same texture as the ship itself, so why arn't the masts and deck black?

Kazeite made the Dead Man's Chest version; I think the ship isn't entirely black there. But indeed it CAN be done to make it all black. Just a matter of darkening deck.tga.tx and HEX-editing the Pearl's GM files.

Really? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> and how would i got about getting the dmc version of the pearl?

We've got two Pearls: The first is the one originally in the game looking nothing like the Pearl, the second is Kazeite's version looking every bit like the Pearl. There's several updates, but none have a black deck and black masts.

I meant the one in the movie, not the game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

To answer that question: Doesn't exist. But it is possible to make the texture modifications.

It's going to be done if somebody does it. Two options to ensure it gets done: 1) Ask someone or 2) Do it yourself. Option 1 sometimes works, but not always. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Do you mind me asking what the books that you can buy are for? sorry i'm fairly new <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

They can give you a skill boost. But some books decrease your skills as well. You'll have to find out for yourself which ones you want to keep. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

Thanks <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

you forgot about the wicked wench. anyway, you can also just laugh at those books of course. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> you might notice that three of them are about me, although 'morgan's almanac' is in a too small info screen so it's missing the last line of text. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

Why don't we add "Enemy on the Horizon" by John Paul Jones? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

What if we added the Bible to accompany the bronze cross avaliable in-game. Priests would always have one on person. having one adds luck skill (A little help from above so to speak...) and increases your rep as people look kindly on you for having good faith. (As it was more widely accepted and expected to believe back then.)

Giving the skill boost is easy. The reputation boost would be a bit harder to acchieve.

I don't think the reputation boost is needed. Anyway, if you're Calvinist for exemple, a Catholic wouldn't like you much even if you're carrying the Bible on you.

If i was to go about retexturing the pearls masts and deck myself how would i do it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Darken deck.tga.tx and rename it. The HEX edit the Pearl's GM files to use your new file.

Thank you i'll see what i can do <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I actually model things on 3ds max but this new ship texturing junk is fairly new to me but hey, i'm always up for a challange.
