Hi been a while

Only been back a minute and have encountered more bugs in the build

Im using latest build no other mods and there is a blank button on my main menu also some of the options on the skin select part of the talk with malcom have no text (even though i can select them)

also found that ship birthing and the one that brings up ship stats (sail % and the like) on the option menu is also blank

oh and some of the sail options are blank (and i bet thats only a start)

OH this is in the wrong forum as I have found my Arcade sailing mode button is missing on a fresh install of stock
 
You are using Build 12 or any of the Post Build 12 mods as well? No matter really; I know both Build 12 and the latest Post Build 12 show the texts on the buttons properly, so I don't know what's the matter. Are you using a different version than the regular American or European English version? Maybe that would cause trouble? And how did you install it? Maybe something went wrong during the installation?
 
It must be my new CD rom drive (I updated it because I used to have trouble installing games with it) as it woked before, I will try with my dvd drive and get back to you
 
Does this happen in the stock unmodded game as well? I recall once hearing of someone who had the same problem. It something to do with the video card drivers, if I recal correctly. Did you update your drivers recently?
 
Maybe a less recent version of your video card drivers would work then. Right im downloading the 1st driver that supports my graphics card to see if it works (it is a 6200 by the way)

This is crazy. You have a better graphics card than me and I never had any trouble after the first time. if your using win XP have you tried back stepping your vid driver to see if that helps?

they say to roll back to a graphics card driver in the 50 early 60 range but my card is not supported until around 71 and I rolled back to that and my buttons are still blank

how do i do that

I tryed that it did not do anything on the first to notches and on all after that it told me my shader was not supported (as directX had been disabled) <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
Really very strange.

At first it sounds like just a corrupt or missing fonts.ini file but you say you are getting that in stock POTC as well.

Oh and thats not half of it

I e-mailed Nvidia because it was there drivers causing it and guess what?

Old topic now but just posting back to say that whatever caused it has now been fixed

I have got the same graphics card as before (Thou I have upgraded everything else) so Either Nvidia have fixed their drivers OR (and this is my theory) I have recently bought command and conquer the 1st decade and during install that did something to direct x to allow command and conquer 1 and red alert to run and I believe that also may have fixed this bug. Now if only i knew what ea did to direct x
