Blue Bird quest?

The quest can give any of the owner of store. It is random.

It allows you to capture a one of a kind ship, the fastest in the game (or so I've heard, haven't actually managed the feat myself yet).

Its not the fastes , the Dutchman is the fastest if you upgrade it in Bermuda, I got them both and I sold the Blue Bird the moment I captured it, its got nothing but speed ,small crew,low HP, small hold,the speed is 18 if I remember corectly ,and the Dutchman is 20 when I upgraded it, probably the Blue Bird would surpas that if I had upgraded it to but I cant say for sure.

Its worth it if you do the quest early in your carrer because its a lv 4 or 5 ship , when I finaly got the quest for it I was using a lv 2 ship ,a warship to be precise.
 
I got the BlueBird (of course in my posession, my level is not high enough for sailing class 3 ships and on).... but the shopkeeper didn´t get me any reward for bringing down the original Blue Bird captain.... Now I´m stuck with the punishing facts.... the quest log says that I must look for info about merchants shippings... I´ve spoken in the same city with the bartender, the drunks, the shop assitant, the merchants on the street, the port authority (sorry, I don´t remember the proper word in english, I´m spanish) and even the banker and the shipyard....
Where I must look for this info?

You're looking in the right direction. But this will require a lot of time. The dialogue should be the key words "the ship owned by local merchants," (something similar, I do not have the English version of the game). Play other quests, the information will be.
