Boarding Leverage

I have been reading in other threads about people being overwhelmed by enemy swordsmen during Boarding Actions and there's a trick I figured out, I'm sure a lot of others have as well, whereby, at least on the first deck, you can even the odds quite a bit no matter what level you are playing at.

In the first boarding stage, with the two ship decks, I have found that I can usually kill the first opponent that I have to face before a bunch of other enemies start showing up. Having done that, instead of either helping out the other crewman on the ship that I am on, or crossing over to the other ship, If I do a 180 degree turn and then head for the quarterdeck, and then wait at the top of the stairway, the enemy sailors can only approach me one at a time and I can dispatch them one by one. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" />
(You probably have enough time to start running to the quarter deck, without being hit when the fight starts, but I usually kill the first guy no matter what.)

On the other decks there is usually a place you can get to, after you kill the first opponent, where only two enemies, at the most, at a time can get to you. All you have to do to get there safely is sheathe your sword and no one will bother you. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

This is kind of a lame way to proceed, but it can come in handy when you are trying to take that Man O' War with Skelly Bob's Gunboat, and it has the Good Piratin' Seal of Approval. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/guns.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":2guns" border="0" alt="guns.gif" />

Of course, there's always the Quaker Style Method... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

If anybody else knows another method for boarding actions, I would love to learn it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

Well, when I'm fighting pirates on land, I wait for them to get close, then I do two hit on the one closest to me (taking I'm outnumbered 1 to 4) Two of them will take position and thereby blocking for the third.
Then I start blocking. I've noticed that it takes about a second or so between each attack. Eventually they'll be hitting me at the same time, so by coordination it correctly I'll be able to hit em when they are both just staring at me! And this is pretty much the same approach I use when I board ships, nothing has gone really bad yet...

One thing though, about boarding:
How do board a ship? No seriosly dont laugh!
For me it's like random wether I can board or not...
How close are u supposed to be to the ship? and in what speed?
Still, sometims I even ram the ship, with no option of boarding! so what makes a boarding party?

Depends on what boarding perks ye 'ave mate in yer abilities interface, I usually attack enemy ships from de stern on a angle so dey can't shoot me arse off,wid master O' boarding perk,it be a cinch te board also yer Grappl'n skill can be increased fer easier board'n <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Excellent strategy Mings! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
