boarding problems

7x i have restarted potc.. in order #1 installed stock potc #2put in build 12_full #3put in pre b13 base #4ran runme.bat..Now by doing this,now ican talk to tavern bartender and after boarding ship now i can talk to captain....BUT now after boarding ship after it raised its colors,i have no problems fighting the crew but after i defeat them i push space bar and it takes me to captains room..new problem i can't leave room and i have to reload game also when i fight a gang of thugs in town i CTD and have to reload game ________JUst to let you guys know before this install order as said above #1.#2 & #3 were the same except that #4 was B13_beta7 &then i ran runme.bat...thats where the tavern bartender problem occur does anyone have answers

What "tavern bartended" are you talking about exactly?

Also: Do you get the boarding problem with Beta 7?
 
i was talking about the bartender in oxbay and greenford... but alittle update i re-installed potc again & this time i used beta 8 version & now i have no problems w/ bartenders but i do have a CTD problem.When i'm fighting a ships in close 4 or more i ctd & when i am on land fighting with 7 or more guys i ctd.Is it a bug?My system is HP 2.6ghz 80gb hard drive 1016 ram memory w/ nvidia 6200 card
 
Not sure about those CTDs ('im unable to reproduce those). Your hardware should be fine for that. Sounds like something is corrupted somewhere.
 
yeah it does - if you wait for the official build13(full) release over the weekend - it will simply be one install ontop of the stock PotC game - much easier and much less confusing <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
Clearly I was unable to get the CTD during fighting guys on land...

Ja man,that picture w/all the downed soldiers was funny,good humor.I hope it is just a bug.Krazy man cause i did everything over again & now in the store menu for cannon balls i get a picture of the ale barrels,matter of fact all pics do not match,along w/ grayish blank pics of pistol bullets,gunpowder,& all special type weapons{grenades,poison tip weapons etc....}this all after i did 12_full,b13 base,latest version beta8,& runme.bat_________I know that next version 13__full is almost here,so i hope that will take care of these problems.....Also,not to make this a mucking letter,but what is the fastest way to extract files into potc folder,the 12_full file is quick,just by clicking on it,but all the other files b13 base & beta8 i do manually takes a heck of along time.Can u give me a quicker way?
 
hey, shouldn't the musket be on your back? do you fire it with one hand as well? it does look good though.

that screenshot looks like you ate way to many beans! what did you do anyway?
 
We know he muskets work weird, but there's nothing much we can do about it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
i know you can't change it, i was just wondering. i still love that screenshot though! maybe some of the screenshots made by someone should be put on a gaming site to encourage people to download the mod? i'll start a topic about this.

I berthed a ship I captured ( AW SOME Ability ! ) .

I Went and Purchased another Smaller ship to suit my level and ability...but when I changed the ships name I was rooted to the ground and no commands worked.

Every time I try to fast travel to a store or another area I get a message .." something is going to happen " ...and nothing does...but I cant fast travel to the store or the tailor etc. Just the port.

Still trying to get used to the controlls...but seems like lots to do...I am just farting around right now trying to make enough cash to pay everyone...mostly by looting corpses..I have only been to Redmond and the Ox joint you start out and thee French kinda took over.

I sunk some Pirate ships but for some reason the boarding icon never comes up ...I even got damaged trying to get closer ! My boarding skill is 5 and I have the ability...so why wont it let me board ships ?

I need to loot them for $$$$$ sinking sucks...just raises my level.

Unless I am doing something wrong ...but how hard can boarding be ..I got my berthed shipped From the French that way..after they almost sunk me ...unless they boarded me ??? All I know is I was almost dead and managed to shoot the captain before he did me in...And I got a shiny new ship...But I couldn't use it to board the Pirates that jumped me .

How did you change her name? You are supposed to click the name, press Backspace, type in the new name, then press Enter to confirm.

Are you currently in Redmond town for the first time? If so: Something IS going to happen there. If you walk up to the governor's mansion, one of the soldiers will come talk to you. After that happened, fast travel will work as it should. So just go to the governor's mansion and be rid of the problem.

You can change most of the controls.

Did you try boarding before or after you sunk them? You can't board them after you sunk them. But you should be able to board ships if you skill is high enough and you come in at the right angle.

You can try to play the main quest. That'll give you some money and experience to start with.
