body models

Okay, i find the tailor shop very good. but here is something i would see as an option in the game:

Is someone skilled enough, to make all the models with nathaniels hawks face? so if you buy new clothes, you still keep the face. i dont want to become an old guy all of a sudden, just because i buy new clothes...

does someone know what i mean? it would be great to keep the face and just change the clothes. this is especially relevant, now, that the clothes actually work as armor as well...

That would be a very tough call, Mailor, involving a LOT of work - and also a LOT of hard drive space to keep all those models and textures &tc. What might work better is if you found a modeler to make a CUSTOM character model for you with Nathaniel's head and the body you wish to use. That can happen and not take up all your system to store...

Problem is finding a modeler who has the time to do this kind of job, as it takes a lot of time and skill to match things and bind the skeleton AND do the textures - whew. It could take several people to do this for you, one to model, one to skin. And we are VERY short on modelers right now...

<b>Osiris,</b> if you go to a tailor shop and buy a model wearing armor, you WILL have armor when you wear that skin. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

I have a question about armor...
Is there different ratings for different suits, or is it just armor = true/false?

Hmmm, not sure, 8Q, I think all armor is the same rating but you have to be a certain level of play to be able to purchase them. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

You can actually cheat on that if you want, by completing the Lucas quest and have him join your crew <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

Yes, armor has different ratings.

There are five values:
Coverage - chance of armor being involved. 100 = always hits armor, 0 = never hits armor (i.e. no armor).
Bladestop - chance of completely stopping a sword.
Bladefrac - if not stopped, the fraction of damage taken
Gunstop - chance of completely stopping a bullet
Gunfrac - if not stopped, the fraction of damage taken.

So for example, gold armor (the best):
75% chance of armor being involved
10% chance of completely stopping a sword cut
If not stopped, only 67% of the damage is dealt.
25% chance of completely stopping a bullet.
If not stopped, only 50% of the damage is dealt.
