Can anybody tell me where I can download Build 10.1? I would need it ASAP, if somebody has it on his/her HD, can you put it on the ftp? (username: <i>files@piratesahoy.net</i> password: <i>piratesahoy</i>)

Keith, I have a friend who would like to try the Build, but he doesn't speak english, and I found a hungarian translation of Build 10.1 on the internet. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Are there translations into other languages, too? (I think Scheffnow did a german one for a previous version).
 
There is a Build 11 German translation, yes, a Hungarian 10.1 translation, don't know about others tho... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
I think there might have been others too, can't recall exactly, but I thought there was more than the German one...

I thought there were people working on an English translation of the Russian A&M mod... I wonder what happened to that? Has anyone seen Vassal around?
 
It's too bad, really, that Vassal and the others have disappeared with the unfinished but mostly completed project... I think Alan Smithee knows Russian, but he's very busy atm with graduate school, and probably wouldn't have time to tackle it...
 
The problem is that all of the character dialog is, SFAIK, locked up inside the DLLs.
So there can only be a partial translation, unless A&M release the source for the dialogs (and for that matter any log messages the engine sends that are in the C files rather than calling string references in the resourceINItexts*.* files)
 
Alexus B *did* offer to give out the texts that are in the DLLs for translation.

What I don't understand is how did they get dialogs into DLLs in the first place ? Do they have close connections with Akella or could we also compile our own DLLs and call them from the game?
 
Humm, good question, Inez... Actually I was always under the impression that A&M were pretty close with Akella... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Not quite sure why...

It would be great to have those texts, because I think it would help a lot.
