Alan Smithee was working on some catacombs, but it hasn't progressed to the point to be able to include it in Build 12, however, Screwface set up Khael Rhoa so that you can land on it prior to the end of the Main Quest, and also access it after you have completed the Main Quest. and he added new sections including some caves and catacombs. (He took the caves and catacombs from other parts of the game, they're not new.)

I'm not certain that you have to wait, Screwface, who came up with the mod, is from France, so I'm assuming he set it up with the European version. All the coding changes are in English, however, so I don't know for certain it will work for you. I think that the mod is still on the FTP if you want to download it. Here is a link to the thread about the Devil's Island Mod. Hope it works for you.

The F1 menu was centered instead of on the right, there were no button graphics, and all of my text was screwed up - could not read it at all, actually looked like the game was trying to communicate to me in Cyrillic (what I could see of it)...

Sir Christopher, I'd like to add to your ReadMe a bit of tweaking I just did to the Build (via the CVS server) - I previously thought I'd taken care of this, but apparently not - <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

I added a couple of lines of code in turpin cabanel_dialog.c to facilitate the removal of Valentin Massoni's papers. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

BTW, scratch the Silehard dialog edit, I think what I saw was an anomaly as the code looks normal to me... ???

<edit> Another small tweak - it bothered me that when you steal that French ship from occupied Oxbay, that as you sail to Redmond there's no food on the ship and your men starve and die. It's a little thing... But it bothered me. I fixed it. Altered quests_reaction.c to add more rum and wheat to the ship. Imagine those French naval types not stocking their ships properly so I can steal them without worrying whether I can feed all those PRISONERS I'm taking! Also just added CCC's code (toggleable in BuildSettings.h yessssssssss!) to make the log message font smaller and relocated and scrolling faster... The default is OFF (so status is quo unless you want to change it yourself).

I just put up on the CVS a toggle in BuildSettings.h for getting the Skeletons back into the dungeons, per CCC.

Yes, I'm sorry, I've been really busy, and I think the others have been, too. I'm glad I can help, if even just a little bit, to take care of these bugs and add some tweaks...

Mad Jack has been trimming down the installation files, and has done a masterful job with the installer - including an UNinstaller! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Armor CAN be bought at the tailor shops - it is what you see is what you get - so if you SEE that an outfit has armor (the Spanish, Portuguese, and Dutch soldiers and officers skins) then you will HAVE armor when you are wearing that skin. And yes, it does make a difference in your injury rate. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

On a totally unrelated subject, I just made another quick change to the game files, to be sure that Rheims's Journal is removed from your inventory. You give it to Silehard when you report that you've lost Rheims's trail. I changed both Robert Christopher Silehard_dialog.c and .h (made a small change to reflect Hawk's report including the journal).

Build 12 Tweaks

Hi all, new here.

I've been playing Build 11.99e for the last couple days, and a few very MINOR tweaks have come up...but no crashes so far <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

1). Cannon calibers: There seem to be a number of ships with a max cannon size of 32. The source of this really seems to be the lack of low end calibers. 6 and 9 pounders would have been far more common than 32, and even 3 pounders for things like sloops and cutters and the like. I don't know if there is any intent to add these lower calibers or not. Yes or no, the models that most caught my eye were the frigates. The light Frigate is way over gunned with 32's, as is the regular frigate. Even the USS Constitution, which was one of the largest frigates ever only had 24 pounders.

2). Ship Models: War Schooner is actually a ketch, with it's main mast forward. I'm not familiar with the Shyknyava (sp) rig...however, from the model it looks like a Snow. If these are the same thing...ignore this one. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />
