<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> here are some things i encountered...

1. the Clair quest.. where you go to oxbay mines and steal the treasure from the english. the problem is that i cant get Clair to join my crew. on the shore, when he asks to join me, i accepted. but he doesnt go to the passenger list. and when i did not accept him, i go to isla muelle and get him there. i asked him to join my crew but he's still not getting to the passenger list.

2. you can join multiple armies. i mean you can join the french, english, and spanish and others at the same time, and your rank goes up too at the same time.. so basically you just work and work at 1 faction and you can ask for promotion at the other factions... i dont know if it is on all factions. but i am with the french, english, and spanish armies at the same time... also when i tried to quit an army, then join again, i am at the same rank. im not saying i like this bug. in fact its a cool bug, but im just saying because in other games when you do this, you go back and restart from scratch. i would suggest that if u fixed the multiple armies bug, you would keep this little bug. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

3. when you buy a spanish armor, you only get the bonus when you're wearing the skin right? when you change skin, the armor disappears... thats good BUT there is a bug/workaround for that. have a crewmember wear spanish armor, then "exchage" with him and get the armor from his inventory. now you also get the spanish armor bonus without wearing the skin. the problem is you can never drop the spanish armor. i guess because since the armor is designed to be "always equipped", you cannot drop it. i now have 3 spanish armors on my inventory and cant get rid of it.

4. when you are on any menu screen, and you "quickload", you can't press any button when the game loads. i mean its like your keyboard is not plugged in so the only choice would be to press ALT+TAB and "end task". even if you "quickload" after "quickloading", the keyboard is still out...

5. you made it that you cant save while carrying a monk artifact. but you can "quicksave"... hmm...

thats all i remember right now... try to find more...<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" /> see ya <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

<b>lostprophet_2, </b>heh, most of these are known "bugs" (or not bugs).

1.) I have not done this quest so I can't help ya there. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

2.) Yes, there's been some discussion of rewriting that part of our mods to fix that multiple armies thing, however it's also like that in Sid Meier's Pirates! which could account for the reason the modders wrote it that way - in some of these mods they were trying to emulate SMP.

3.) Armor has a problem that I think NathanKell has been trying to work out - it should become "unequipped" when you take it off, but it does not. I hadn't noticed that if you give it to a crewmember, you will also get that protection even tho you are not wearing the armor... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Sounds kinda handy, actually! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Personally, I liked the old way the armor worked - you could have it as an item you buy from the merchant or any of the street merchants (it was rare and expensive) and only when you had it "equipped" would you be "wearing" it - and it was not visible.

4.) Quickload has some problems that are being worked through. IIRC, I thought Nathan had committed a fix to the upgrades of B12, but I am unsure if it works for everyone. Best thing is to get the most recent installer for B12 and check "UPDATES" to get the most recent ones. That may help fix things with regard to Quickload.

5.) <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" /> Oh that's a GOOD ONE!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I don't recall anyone mentioning that before, we'll have to fix it! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Thanks, Prophet! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Hi,

This multiple armies thing - Just a thought, but:

Having letters of Marque from different nations seems OK to me but perhaps it shouldn't be possible if the nations involved are at war with each other???

If you have multiple letters of marque then it could be OK to gain rewards from more than one nation by sinking mutual enemies like pirate ships.

A big thanks to all the modders - I'd have ditched the game months ago if it weren't for them.

Yes, the entire (inter)national relations system is ripped cheerfully from Pirates! (or P!G, rather, I was too young for the original; but P!G was just about the first PC game I ever had, I was a Mac guy before that).

A possible solution is to combine this approach (Letter of Marque for privateers) with Sea Dogs's approach (as designed for POTC by Verruckt) of actually _joining up_, rather than just privateering with a LoM. That way both camps are happy. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Regarding #1: He joins as a companion (i.e. fellow `ship-captain`), not passenger, so thus he won't appear on your passengers list but your ships list.

#2. As above, it's a feature not a bug. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
And the keep rank thing too, actually. Well, actually you only _sometimes_ get to keep that.
Basically, there's a function to handle leaving service. If you leave honorably (tell the governor you're leaving service), _and_ your reputation is above some minimum value, you can later return and be reinstated.
However, if you leave dishonorably (fire on a friendly ship, for example, or hoist the Black Flag, _without "giving notice" first_), or even if you do give notice but your rep is under a min threshold, you will be labeled a traitor, your lands seized, and the guards set hostile to you.

#3. Ah, that _is_ indeed a bug. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />
Yeah, I kinda like the old armor approach too. Well, that's what BS.h is there for... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> { <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" /> }

#4. That's a problem with POTC and the way quicksave/load is implemented, which is, AFAIK, unavoidable (since qs/ql was added on as a hack job. A very good one, and kudos to DCHaley!, but there's no native support for it).

#5. Bug, yes indeed. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />
