Greetings! I just downloaded the build beta and am in the process of changing my buildsettings.

I could use a bit of explanation when it comes to the boarder models. If I define the "main" boardermodel do I have to change anything else? (I used the cnorrington from models/characters). Does the fact that I chose something from character files versus a named group in buildsettings (marine, corsair etc) do anything? What the next boarder models 2 -4? What about Nathaniel models? Where can I find what the boarders 1 - 10 look like? I looked at all of the models on Pieter's page, and did notice that most of them were into categories, is that where I need to look? I didn't see a category called Nathaniel boarders. While I'm asking is there someplace in buildsettings that I can change the person(s) who pop up for townspeople and officers? Thanks in advance for your help!'

*sighs* Okay...just got to start a new game. It CTD because I messed with the starting ships. How do I know that? There are NO starting ships to choose from. %*(@()$#*)(!

I will reply later. In the meantime read my other reply to you about changing BuildSettings.h in another thread. I don't have time anymore to write a thorough reply right now. You want an explanation about the boarder model settings? OK. Here goes:

You need to change the BOARDERMODEL setting. You can change it to the following values:

"": This turns off the boardingparty mod. This mod makes it so that boarders will attack in a compact formation. It this mod is off, then boarding will work as it did in the stock game.
"standard": The player uses the regular boarding models.
"marine": The player uses marines as boarders.
"corsair": Same but for corsairs.
"masked": Same but for masked characters.
"skeleton": Same but for skeletons.
"girl": Same but for towngirls.
"soldier": The player uses soldiers from the current nation's flag. So if you're flying English colours, the boarders are English soldiers and if you're flying Dutch colours, the boarders are Dutch soldiers.
"boarder": The player uses the models defined in NATHANIEL_BOARDER_1 through NATHANIEL_BOARDER_10. You can change these. Select the models you like from RESOURCE\MODELS\Characters. Note that you must add behind the modelname "M" for male models, "W" for female models and "S" for skeleton models.
"[model name]": The boarders use the defined model and the BOARDERMODEL2, 3 and 4 models.

I haven't got the slightest idea what BOARDER_INDEX is meant for. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
