in POTC movie jack has to pay tax to dock. i was thinkin it would be kinda cool that if you were in "bad relations" with a certain country, they wouldnt shoot at you if you came into their port but when you dock, there is tax collecter guy waiting for you on the dock. he would ask for 2 gold or something, and your name. if you tell him your name and you are bad with them, then the screen would change to the ship and you have to escape while the fort, ships, whatever fire at you. but you could lie to the guy and tell him a fake name (like Smithy) and you could stay on the island.... but since you are keeping a low profile (or for some other reason) you still cant use the city's shipyard etc. maybe if you have a high luck skill you can steal your money right back. anyways, I think its a good idea.
 
I think a harbormaster/docking fee will be part and parcel in Build12... So we'll see just what the guys (ladies too?) do with that. I imagine you'll have different dialog options there, and giving an alias could be one. Maybe if your Leadership or Luck is lacking, the harbormaster won't believe you.

Oh Rico, you know... Go to QC and talk to the guy in the tavern who will - for a price - mend your relations with any country you happen to have gunning for you. He's the diplomat...

If you have the harbormaster collecting docking fees and allowing "Mr Smithee" to come into town, well... Who needs the diplomat?
 
U gotta have condition and in this case I suppose it's ur nation is not at wat with the nation which controls the port. yeah if the fort sees a pirate flag it would only make since that the fort would immediately fire at you. but then again.... i pirate alot but i dont put up my flag so im not worried about that. and i hate the diplomat thing... its a pain, and it can get real expensive. he was gonna mend my wounds for over a mill. if i could have drawn my gun in the tavern i would have shot him in the eye.

Hey! Any of you got any idea on when the new build12 is coming out?? Considering what the build 11 added to the game, I can't wait!!!!

I get a sort of `bullet-time` effect when my computer starts lagging during a fight...

Cat, I think it's possible to disable the disabling of drawing weapons in certain places. In entries for insides of places, there's a line for toggling "fight indoors", or something like that, on and off. I haven't tried it, but it seems it may work... Could go wild and kill some priests or store clerks or something, see how that wrecks your game.
