I cn not find anywhere to perchase guns. Is it just that i have to get so far in the game to do it. some one please help

All the street merchants, walking merchants, and shop keepers will sell guns of various types and condition.
The gun type and condition, depends first on your level, and then on the rarity of the gun.
Once you're at level 2, you should be able to buy the short pistol.
You might also find a pistol as loot, or a pick up item.
If you are using Build 12 and have "loot the dead" turned on in the buildsettings.h file, then you can get the weapons of your opponents.skallywagjack

Looks like Petros answered your question, but just in case, if you're also looking for guns for your ship, you can purchase them at the shipwrights, and either upgrade your cannons or exchange them for carronades. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" />skallywagjack
