Hi All,
Hoping one of you maybe able to shed some light on a persistant crash that I experience every time I try to enter Oxbay. I have build 11 (euro) installed and have been playing POTC for ages, however I've never finished the main game! I'm quite happy just trawling for plunder and glory, but it's just got me stumped.
When I go back to Oxbay, escorting the troop ship and I have to meet the spy in the tavern, every time I try to enter the town, the game crashes back to Win Desktop... with an engine.exe error.
Though it dent my pride, I must admit that this problem is beyond me. I have read every word of every post relating to POTC crashes on this site and I have tried:
- the "T" trick
- the "I" trick
- going back to an earlier saved game
- starting a new game
- reinstalling the game and build (tried save games and new game)
- uninstalling game and fresh installing (tried save games and new game)
- Sinking troop ship to try to change the order of events
- Allying myself with the French so I can enter via the port (this allows me to "fast travel" to the shipyard, tavern, shop, etc, but when I try to leave any of these fine establishments it still crashes!)
- installed Omega Nvidia drivers
I have never had any other glitches or problems or bugs (for which I'm eternally grateful) in hundreds of hours of game time, so I don't think it's a system or compatibility problem, but this crash happens every time!
The error log generated is as follows, but sadly it means nothing to me:

Ship Boat doesn't have fire places
Any help would be appreciated. If it helps, I have 5 officers and only one ship and I have not made any mods to buildsettings.h, etc. It's not the end of the earth if this is terminal, because you guys havve created such a fanntastic game, that I'm quite happy just playing witthout following the quest, but it would be nice all the same.
