This is the ship belltrop will use in the quest but i don't have a modeling program and their prices here in my place are so high that i cannot afford... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ib012.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cry" border="0" alt="ib012.gif" /> but come someone volunteer <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ib012.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cry" border="0" alt="ib012.gif" />: ,please...well this is just a simple ship with 30 cannons..please someone make a gm model for this ship please please please....
 
Yeah, I really dig the coat, and the face is so mean. Pirates should be properly mean and nasty.

And so on that note, here's the result of eight hours' labour overnight last night, with the aim of creating the grossest, most vile, `scurvey-wracked` bloody buccaneer I could muster:

(It's dark but notice the eyepatch bolted on, multiple scars [and a skull&crossbones chest tattoo peeking out] and his bloody hook, not to mention the slight sneer.)

I call him Uziah Wurmwoode, and I'd like to see him and this Belltrop fellow among mighty pirates who go chasing after your head as you gain more skill and rep later in the game. You go chasing after so many pirates, why don't they start hunting you, to make a name for themselves?

I'll try a proper lady pirate next; my attempts so far there have been disappointing. I realized, for one, you can't give a `non-eyepatch` character an eyepatch... that just winds up bizarre.

The face is from an actual photo, but I can't get any of the colour the way I want it. Simply darkening the hair/skin doesn't change the colour itself - how do those of you profficient in photoshop/psp do that?

To change colors in Photoshop, go to Image/Adjustments/Hue and Saturation. Play around with the sliders. You also might want to use Brightness and Contrast (I often wish those two tools were combined into one).

Something else you might like to try is "Variations"... That will `color-correct` an image using Magenta, Yellow, and Cyan filter effects rather like when you are trying to print a color picture in a darkroom...

I also found an excellent `direct-angle` headshot of Carey Elwes, so my Dread Pirate Roberts looks <i>exactly</i> like him now:

Vassal, I'm using photobucket.com, and it seems to work fine. I haven't hit a bandwidth wall yet, which is what you get from usual 'website' places. This is just for photo storage/display.

Glad Zorro's a hit! I cobbled it together from various Zorro pieces (the belt and hat band are from a photo of a doll I found, and the face is Anthony Hopkins' `Z-Man`) ... he now has black guantlets and a more pronounced cape (I hope it's clear what that is).

I'm in the middle of my celebrity mods... Here are first drafts of a few. I want to see if you can guess who they are; that'd determine how well I did.
