Chris Mings Story Arc?

So I was playing the Jack Sparrow storyline Chris Mings story arc and right after talking to Mings at his house, he sends me to Beckett at the tavern, who then recruits me to escort him to Port Royale. Anyway, last time I played the Billy Brock story arc, so this is basically jumping right to the end. I'm just curious if this is supposed to happen or if I somehow skipped over the entire Mings story arc.

Where as the Brock line had Beckett at the end and a alternate at the start
