Funny how a small little thing such as a group of bodies hanging around makes you want to watch the movie its from, what the hell, POTC 4 is due out soon so i may aswell stick POTC on and watch them all in order to help refresh my mind.

Oh and next time don't carry so much ale and/or rum on board its very flamable as you've found out.:p

Heh heh, it's even in the correct location, to your right as you're exiting Port Royal. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
And I don't think I was carrying any rum at the time (I usually don't bother, since no matter how much I buy it's gone in like one or two days, goddamn alcoholics, the lot of them...), and I don't think ale is flammable at all. Well, at least not where I come from. Maybe Russian ale is hardcore enough to actually burn, after all that is the country where rats capable of devouring swords made of iron are apparently commonplace, so what do I know... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Also, I thought Potc 4 was due in 2012 or somesuch. Not exactly "soon", in my opinion.

What am i thinking its T4 thats coming soon not POTC 4, i did read somewhere that it could be 2011 for POTC4, disney are still trying to work on its plot, should the story be focused on Jack or someone else, who should be the main start etc etc. Personally i think they should focus on Jack.

Yes ale is not very good for starting or adding fuel to fires but back in those day's ale was perhaps much more effective for such things. Rum on the other hand is one of a pirates favourite drinks and because i want my crew to be allert at all times they have 0 ubits of rum to drink per day because i don't carry any rum aboard me ships.<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Neither do i carry ale, gun powder is very dangerous though and i would have rather have my powder stored bellow sea level not sure i would like to sleeping next to all that powder knowing a single spark and we will be scattered across the sea within seconds.

That IS a nice touch outside Port Royale! It's pretty clear that at least some content of CoAS was inspired by PotC. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

As for PotC 4, I SO hope they won't make a totally stupid movie out of it. The early rumours we heard were BAD - BAD - BAD!
Jack and Barbossa's search for the Fountain of Youth involving Jules Verne flying machines and the Lost City of Atlantis?
What's next? Aliens??? They did it in Indiana Jones! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

The rumours were actually so bad that we got to work on our own PotC 4 script <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=10925" target="_blank">right here</a>, which would certainly be infinitely better than what the rumours were... rumouring.
We haven't yet finished it and haven't even worked on it for quite a while, but there's a wealth of cool stuff in there.
If anyone's interested, feel free to fire it up again. I might be able to join in again soon as well. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Now I know they probably won't do what our script suggests, but I do hope they'll keep the overkill of fantasy elements from PotC 2 and 3 to a minimum.
I don't care if they leave Will and Elizabeth out of it this time. They were nice characters in the first movie, but as far as I'm concerned, they could've dropped them for the second movie already.
As long as it's got Jack and Barbossa, they've got all the main characters they need.
Then how about a nice fun chase movie where Jack and Barbossa each try to outrun and outsmart the other. Could be fun.
Especially if at the end, they both don't get what they were looking for in the first place. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />

Here be me current brig, the Valkyrie!

<img src="http://xs140.xs.to/xs140/09240/aop2-1270.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

And wait a sec ...what the hell is he doing there!?!?

<img src="http://xs140.xs.to/xs140/09240/aop2-2506.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Probably because he isn't. The Hornblower you're thinking of won't be born for another hundred years, this is just some chum who happens to have the same name. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

That's a bit unfortunate; I mean if you ARE going to deliberately add Horatio Hornblower, it had better be HORATIO HORNBLOWER! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />

I bumpedinto this man in Port Royal after installing the smuggler mod, he's exactly the same long hair white shirt etc even sitting in the same place. in fact i was about to post the same picture. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Anyway i was left puzzled as to why an Horatio Hornblower would be sitting in clothes that are more for a pirate than a officer. I asked if he would join me and he said no, well i wouldn't want to sail with anone who's a fake anyway. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

While i'm here, here's a picture of the Colonial Schooner you start with.

It seems that stats of pseudo-heroes are randomly generated. Maybe... Somewhere... Someday... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

It does indeed seem to be that way, in my previous game HH was a scoundrel, the one I have in my crew now is a trusted sailor.

Here's my MOW named, HMS Victory. She has taken a heavy beating but it was in three seperate war's. Basically i attacked a pirate fleet of two Schooner's, after capturing one to sell i headed for the nearest port. I was flying the English flag and got attacked by a French fleet of 6 ships, 2 Corvette's, 1 Battleship, 3 Trading ships, my sails was damaged but no masts was lost in that battle i looted most of the ships and sank all the Corvettes and Battleship with explosives.

The third battle was again the French this time 3 Battleships, 2 Trade ships and 2 Corvette's. As i was trying to sink one of the Battleships a Corvette decided to broadside the front of my ship taking off one mast. A Battleship took the second mast down and by the end of the battle there was me and one Battleship remaining, my maximum speed was 0.2 knots as i tried to get close enough to board and capture the Battleship. And bellow is a picture if that very Battleship i captured in the third battle, i was looky to make it to port, i don't know wether to sell the Battleship or put it into berth for now, i won't sell my MOW though i like to have a MOW for messing around in.
<a href="http://gallery.myff.org/gallery/531762/p1.JPG" target="_blank"><img src="http://gallery.myff.org/gallery/531762/p1.JPG" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
Battles Ship, i captured in need of much repair.

If i had taken any other ship out i would have been sunk, then again the MOW was so slow in the third battle due to loosing one mast in the previous war that i was an easy target. Looking on the bright side the real HSM Victory was towed after been totally demasted at least i still had one mast notibly didn't give you much forward mottion but it was enough for 0.2 knots at maximum speed. If i had been sailing in 3D mode all the time i would have still been sitting out there now just thinking of what the port looks like.

Nice screen shots and tales of battle Luke159! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
