COAS - Valecso Fight

I mean there's about 10 guys inside, all packed with heaviest gear. The 3 men the admiral sends to help me are not of any help at all - if lucky they can kill 1 or 2 of the attackers before they all go down very quickly.
And narrow spots don't really work that well because the enemies all pull out the heavy artillery and shoot me to death in a couple of seconds.
Any alternate solutions not involving an impossible fight 10 vs me?
Or any other advise here?

Bah, if I ever restart again I sure as hell will play with cheats enabled like anyone really should; I've come across so many unbalanced fights that each take hours(!) of reloading-dead-reloading to solve - that's really becoming extremely frustrating...

What difficulty are you playing on? Have you mastered all the fencing skills? If not, you are in an unflattering situation...

It is imperative that you have "master fencing" perk, as well as equipping a cuirass (expensive cuirass for 35% damage reduction from Dexter's chest) to fend off bullets for a short period of time. Other than that, it is just a combination of your good dexterity and luck. Swing, when the enemy flinches, quickly block and release so you can immediately swing again. But I guess that's a very fundamental melee tactic that everyone should probably already know.

Yeah if you find yourself frustrated over and over again with this Valesco fight, you should definitely resort to cheating when going up against the Caspers.

I am wearing that expensive cuirass but I dont have that perk yet.

Well, I tried for 2 more hours today to no avail - I am level 22 on skipper difficulty... guess that means I can forget it and can restart from a save even before I entered COAS at all because I'm stuck there forever with no chance to train any further.

For cheating it's too late I really don't want a complete restart for the 3rd time to enable it.
We really need a sticky to <b>warn ppl to not enter COAS without having an almost fully developed char or cheats enabled</b> - because else one may very well become stuck there for ever and possibly loose many days or even the whole game if there are no savegames from way before left. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

This is the correct answer! If you think this fight is hard, then you should know that there are others in the game that are much worse.

I love this game, but it doesn't do a very good job of warning you of stuff. You get quests of 'go attack this place'; and it would be nice if they added 'but don't bother going unless you can somehow round up 5,000 Seadog level soldiers in the next 20 days.' I play with cheats enabled because it allows me to 'skip' these annoying (IMO, unbalanced, unplaytested) parts and get back to pirating fun.

OK, now that I have bored you, you can have this cookie for reading this far. There is a gimik to beating this fight even before you get Chad's 3 men....

- Enter the bow of the ship and wait about 10 seconds. It is the same zone as the rear, so the pirates will try to get to you, but they wont be able to.

- Exit and enter the rear. The pirates will be far below deck and will have to run back one at a time. Bullet, plus power slice should kill one and if you are lucky you can kill 2.

- Exit, (you need to leave combat mode first), save and repeat. There will be one pirate you can't kill, looks like Chad, but black skin and red shirt. You need to get the quest from Chad before he is killable.

Well, I tried that now about 20 times - and even that I cant do.
I enter and there are still at least 3 peeps that start shooting at me from all sides before I even manage to draw me weapon.
I've given up its just pointless... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
