I'm tryin' to make one model out of two. I took the depp model's head, an the barbossa(pirat10) model, I retextured the original pirat10 skin by copy/pasting the head part from the depp skin. Now what i just need to know is: Is there any chance this'll work?? An if so, what do i have to do to get the model to work in the game?

I named everything sparrow. so h_sparrow, an sparrow.gm an stuff. I really hope this works!

Well, maybe you will have a little problem with the face coz the two heads are not geografically the same.
You have to modify the models files with an hex editor.

If I could replace the barbossa head with the jack sparrow head there shouldnt be any problem with the geografical thing. I'm wonderin' if the head will "fit" on the barbossa body. An If so, how to program it into the game. the texturing tutorial doesn't say anything about this.

Without Maya 4.5 it won't work. The model.gm is used to the entire model seen in the game. The head model (h_sparrow.gm) is only used for the upper left hand corner of the screen when you talk to someone. Its a more detailed model for the close up. The head model itself is really not a head model but more like a bust.

In addition, you can simply replace gm's. Each gm contains code that tells it which texture to point to. So, you need to open up the gm's in a `hex-editor` and change the texture line. Check Suraknar's tutorial on texture editing, he explains all of this.

And until we figure out how to import a new character MODEL (not a new skin or a new character on an old skin, you may not be able to get your hybrid into the game.

If you figure out how to do this, we will all be VERY happy... But as I was told by the PMT, even THEY do not know how to do this... New SHIP models, yes, but not new character models.

We're awaiting word from a new member, Albertino, regarding this process, but he hasn't been around since his first postings a week ago - I suspect "Real Life" has intruded upon any modding projects he may have going on right now, but if he can bring this magic formula to light we will be in the know and good to go... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
