Well you do have a very slow CPU ouch, that might be the problem <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

AMD Barton 2800 (work on 333Mhz), MSI K7N2 `delta-L` 400 mobo, PC3200 1GB RAM (work on 333Mhz)

I've got
Athlon 2600+ 2,13Ghz
256MB RAM
Asus `a7n8x-x`
GeForce4 MX 4000 128mb
with 61.77 NVIDIA Driver

AMD athlon 1.4ghz, ati radeon 9800 pro (4.12 catalyst), 512 ddr ram.
Machine sometimes reboots when boarding ships / entering sword duels on boats.

I'm having the same issue on my backup machine (primary one has issues with it's motherboard at the mo, but runs Pirates! just fine).

I'm wondering if it's the 66.93 drivers that are causing the problem. I'm running a ti4200, 1 GHz Athlon and a lousy 512M of PC133 ram. It seems to crash most often just before you get the "Which ship do you want to attack" option screen.

P4 Prescott 2.4 GHz overclocked to 3.11GHz Stable!!
ASUS `P4P800-E` Deluxe Motherboard
1.00 GB DDR 400Mhz Crucial RAM
Nvidia GeForce FX 5900XT 128MB DDR RAM using old drivers
Service pack 2, windows xp pro

I see that some you guys are having trouble with the drivers that were released on November 9th, just letting you know, not much luck with prior releases. I get the same thing, after a few minutes of play, Microsoft asks me if I want to tell them about my pirate problems.

Could it be a conspiracy between Nvidia, Microshaft's SP2, and those damn Indian War Canoes?

hmmmm im wondering if other Video Cards are doing this??? i have a new ATI Radeon x700 256MB (not a classy like others) in Intel Pentium 4 3GHz speed, and it runs smoothly.

so my guess will be, it might be your computer speed along with the video card memory.

BUT IF YOU HAVE XBOX..... DONT BE SAD COZ PIRATES WILL BE AVAILABLE IN XBOX ON MARCH 2005 <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

Does anyone, fixed this loosy graficcard problem ??
I´ve the same prob too.
1,2 Ghz Athlon
786 mb Ram
Gforce ti 4200 64mb

Game crashes if landing on beach, go to the city, somtetimes on sea, etc.
mostly there comes the bluescreen with the n44_disp.dll error message.
If anyone find a fix, please post it !!!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

I'm encountering a similar problem. Played the game for about three hours with no problems, then started `hard-locking` on me every few minutes. Happens most often in towns and shops. Tried reducing all graphics to minimum (keeps saying my graphics card stopped working), but seeing no improvement. All nVidia drivers and DirectX current. Here's my stats:

Pentium 4, 2GHz
512MB RAM
GeForce FX 5200 w/66.93 drivers
DirectX 9.0c

This is the only game I'm seeing any problems with. Several `system-hog` type games work just fine, this one is fairly easy on systems but crashes constantly. Any helpful input?

I've been having problems for a while with my Geforce with the latest official (`non-beta`) NVidia drivers - 66.93. The problems occured on many games.
The solution for me was to downgrade to the 61.77 drivers - there may be a slight performance hit, but it may work for you.
I suggest actually getting the Omega drivers (they're NVidia drivers that are tweaked for performance/quality) : <a href="http://www.omegadrivers.net/" target="_blank">http://www.omegadrivers.net/</a> - I think they're only up to 61.77 anyway, and it's what I'm using with great success.

Hope all goes well.

I'd be wunder'n if yer probs are sound card ur XP SP2 cause
I'm runn'n
Intel 1.6 Ghz
XP Pro SP1
GF3 titanium 500 64MB
66.93 Nvidia drivers
Hercules 5.1 surround sound
directx 9c
512mb ram
I'm play, SMP an POTC video settings maxed
1600 x 1200 resolution, no crashes both games run smoothly
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I`ve got the following system configuration. All games and sofware (pirates! included) run smoothly and without any problems.

Pentium 4, 2,8 GHz
1024MB RAM
ATI 9600 XT Fireblade (newest Catalyst Drivers)
XP Pro SP2
Directx 9c
Soundblaster Audigy

I play it on a 1024 x 768 resolution. I dont´know why some of you guys have this major or minor problems with the game.

guys i am running a geforce 4200 ti 64mb card with 53.03 drivers. absolutely NO CRASHES EVER and only a couple of EXREMELY limited graphic glitches that may be driver or game programming faults.

Steve
