Concerning Trade

Landlubber
I've been playing the peter blood campaign, and just captured the ship, and am mostly just curious as to what to do now? I'd like to adventure, explore and the like, but I have a concern about food, and general needs required for the crew. I also noticed they're going to be asking for pay soon and I only have like 4000 coin. I'd look in my manual but it's rather shredded thanks to my beagle.
I also like a challenge, so my game is set on captain. From what I could tell that seems to be the normal setting, but felt really hard when I first started. Is there a big difference in the changes in difficulties? Does it only change combat or the difficulty on everything?
About the trade part, is the trade only limited to the pc going to the shops at ports? I've tried to find how to trade for big cargo hauls but I don't know how.

Off the subject, you know the assassin's creed engine I always thought would be a wicked engine for modding a pirate game. Your boat launched from your ship lands you on a beach while your frigate is taking fire from the fort above. You put your dagger in your teeth and start climbing the side of the mountain to get to the entrance of the fort! That would be totally awesome.

If I don't get it wrong you can leave Barbados with 54000 gold if you want some bounty on your head
if not you can leave there with about 25000 gold
so its is quite strange that you only have 4000 gold
I suggest take a new game
do everything you can to take all the money you may have and you won't have to fear about food or any orther things

Okay, the Peter Blood story is the hardest starting story in the game.

My suggestion is get to the closest friendly port you can get to. Then run around and thieve everything you can from the various houses, dungeons and other locations on the island.

When you can afford to, purchase either a War Tartane or a Lugger and swap ships.

DO NOT SELL THE CINCO LLAGOS!! That is one of 4 unique ships in the game, and you will never see another Frigate in the game with that model or the stats she receives again. So keep her and put her into storage when you can afford to.

You can usually afford to put her into storage just by capturing and selling one or two other ships.

The reason you want to get into a smaller ship is you nor Jeremy have a high enough navigation skill yet to command her, so you wind up with huge minuses to all your stats.

Stick Either Jeremy or Ogle aboard the Cinco while you hunt for ships to capture. That way you have an officer on board her that won't mutiny on you. Remember that the quest related officers won't leave you, no matter how displeased they are, but any other officers you hire have the potential to mutiny and try to steal a ship from you.

Once in your smaller vessel you should no longer have those huge minuses and should be able to have more than enough to put the Cinco into a berth.

Don't forget to hire some flunky officer that you will put aboard the Cinco while she is berthed and get the officer you put on her temporarily back into your good officer back into his proper post.

From there forward its pretty straight forward to begin taking missions, capturing ships and generally raising cain all along the spanish main or anywhere else you so choose. **grins**

What are the other three? The only one I can think of for sure is the Dutchman, I'm not sure if the Dog of War has a unique model, and I'm completely at a loss in regards to the third.

the Unique ships:

Cinco Llagos, Blue Bird, War Dog and a Man 'o War that I don't know the name of.

Cap'n Drow

Well, now that you mention it, I would expect the Dutchman to be a Unique as well. So maybe it's 5 ships that are unique.

Five unique ships and a five ship limit on the size of the player's squadron... I see a pattern emerging... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Brig Queen(ship Victoria sail in)
Brig Arrow(Quest about double barrel shotgun)
Xebec(Blue bird quest)
Arabella(Peter quest)
War dog(I don't know what quest because I never do this ship quest)

You are. The Dog of War is from the COAS quest.

where can get Soleyru? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

You will receive it as a companion ship for the last mission of the French quest line, IIRC. Even though you can exploit a bug and keep it afterwards, you can't remove the captain and take it for yourself anyway, so...

I don't count it because it is a part of the quest and there are no way to keep it
Soleyru can keep if put it in port
I dont' know how to sail on that ship but may be it is possible to attack and capture that ship

try to attack the ship when he was companion then. See if can swap ship or not. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
