Hey everyone, I seem to have a bit of a problem with my pirates CD

During the main quest line the priest in Isla Muelle asks you to hunt down a pirate and retrieve his doccuments (from conciego), and he's supposed to be inside the tavern.

Well, my disk doesn't seem to agree with the good priest, and the pirate is not at the table (or any of the tables) in the tavern. Thus, I can't complete the game. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've ordered a new disk from amazon, so hopefully the error will not show up on that cd

Is this the stock game, or have you installed any of the Build Mods?

Assuming it's the basic version straight from the CD's, have you asked the tavern keeper first? The last time I played, I forgot to do this since I know who I'm supposed to talk to, but he wouldn't talk to me. When I'd asked the tavern keeper and he'd pointed me to the guy by the window, the guy by the window became more talkative.

I'm not sure if the person you're after shows up at night. If it's night time, stay overnight in the tavern.

Failing that, leave Conceicao, sail away from the island, then return and try again. The occupants of the tavern should be newly regenerated and the guy you're after might be there now.

Failing <i>that</i>, try reloading an earlier saved game, make sure the priest has asked you to get the documents, then go to Conceicao again.
 
hey thanks for the advice.

I did talk to the tavern keeper, and I tried to start a couple new games and get to that point, no luck so far.

Like i said earlier though, I'm buying a new disk so hopefully the problem will be fixed.
 
I can't believe that you have that problem because of a corrupted disc. If the game were corrupted, it wouldn't work properly at all. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
 
I recall something wasn't good with this character. I think that was one of the first bug I ever corrected in PotC. That was something like the guy asked to appear on a locator that only exist in big tavern and not in small, if I remember well...
