Need Help Countries are at war with themselves

When I speak to a French governor to get a LoM he said France is at war with England, France, and Portugal...?

Okay, I thought. I'll go to Spain to get a LoM. Same thing: Spain is at war with Spain, etc.

I have also noticed French forts firing on French ships, and even battle encounters I have seen French ships firing on French ships.

Has the world gone mad?

Also, how can I fix it? =)

That sounds bizarre.
You do have an old modpack version, so you might consider updating to the latest (see link in my signature).

I don't recall any related code being changed in the past year though, so that probably won't make much difference here.
Also, you'd have to start a new game...

Perhaps a clean install wouldn't be such a bad idea.

I'll try that and see what happens.
