Ahoy there <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
ti's be BloodY TOM Kidd with some questions about the b12 and modpack update.

so i installed build 12, modpack (and the latest patch) and the new islands mo and code by this order :

stock
build 12
modpack base version (nov)
new islands
new island code
and than the update.

now i think installed the updat to late, do i need to reinstall potc now ?

also, when i started the game and talked to malcolam, the font is way to small and hard to read, how to change that (i didnt gone past the ship so i dont know how it is in the game itself) ?

and for future modpack updates, can i continue from saved games or start new game each update ?

p.s.
in the potc directory there is directory called "update" that has b12 installs, what the files do ?

sorry for my english, as i am not native english speaker.

one last thing, is there any other versions of modpacks other than the b12 and post b12 modpack ?
and/or any "stand alone" mods that worth getting ?

If you used the latest modpack base version (21 November 2005), that should be the right version. However, you should install the "new islands code" file last. In this case it doesn't really matter much, but if you want everything to be exactly how it's supposed to, extract the "new islands code" on top of your installation again.

You don't need to reinstall PotC. If things don't work properly, you might have to install the modpack (21 Nov release) on top of PotC again and then install the rest, but you don't have to install PotC again.

The font was indeed made smaller. It can be changed, but I don't know exactly where. I think you should edit the fonts.ini and/or fonts_new.ini files in the RESOURCE\INI folder, but I don't know exactly what to change. I thought there was a "size" parameter, but now I can't find it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

This folder contains the original online installer file and the original online updater file. I included these in the full installation file just in case they would ever be needed. However, neither of these installer files work anymore, because the online installer server has been taken down, because all people now use the full installer version. So you don't really need the file for anything anymore.

There is one other mod: The Russian "The Sea Legend is Back" mod. It's a very good mod; the only drawback is that it's still in Russian. The Russian modding team is working on a translation into English though and considering that the <a href="http://legend.seaward.ru/eng/faq.htm" target="_blank">F.A.Q.</a> and <a href="http://legend.seaward.ru/eng/" target="_blank">main website</a> have now been translated, it's looking like the English version of the mod might be coming soon.

I hope this helps you. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

I forgot to answer this question at first. Sorry for that. Sometimes you will be able to continue a saved game, but it's safer to start a new game each time, because quite major changes are being made every now and then that require a new game being started (again). You could try using a savegame (be sure to press "I" to reinitialize your savegame though!). If it causes trouble, start a new game. If it works, then you're lucky. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I released one yesterday. And because some bugs were already found and a fix was already sent, I'll be updating it again today. I'm hoping the next update would work without a restart. However, a larger update will probably be released some time later. When, I don't know. I have some code stuff that I should also add in, but because it's a bit more complicated doing so, I have so far not done it.
