Crash when trying to sail to cuba

blackrabbit

Sailor Apprentice
I'm running build 14 a7. I did a smuggling run from redmond to cuba and back and when i tried to get to cuba again it crashes when leaving the map to go to the sea near cuba. I started a new game and the same thing happened again from cayman to cuba. Other islands seem to be ok though.

Have you got any idea what kind of chain of events lead up to the crash? What did you do prior to the crash? Can anybody reproduce this bug?

I tried keeping track of what might have caused it and I'm not sure. I didn't start any missions or anything like that. I pickup some cargo at Redmond or Cayman and sail to one of the beaches on cuba, walk to the town, meet the smuggler, go back to the beach sell my stuff. Then I go back to the town to get cargo to smuggle into Redmond or Cayman and do the same thing there. Its on my way back to cuba for a second run that it crashes. I was playing last week and i was able to run back and forth between them for a while but this week i started a new game and now it crashes. Its doing it on two computers too.

I read the post in the forums about crashing when going to sea if its midnight or if the cargo hold is full and thought that it might be simialr to it. I spent the night in the tavern and then sialed to cuba and it crashed. My cargo hold is full so I'm going to try again with less cargo in my hold and see if that helps.

If those things don't work, could you try this:

In your POTC\Program\WorldMap\worldmap.c file set the
#define MAPSPEED to 1.0

cuba has been a bit troublesome in my experience too. maybe because it's so ruddy great big. i'm quite confident petros' suggestion might fix it, or at least decrease the problem.

I tried it, no dice sorry. Maybe its the US embargo of Cuba invading the game lol

meh, just avoid it then. i've also done so ever since i was able to go there. shame really, cos i want to sail along that coast for a change. i've done hispaniola at least two times already.

Maybe it's because the build has Fidel Castro as the Governor in 1690 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
