It's been a while since I posted an update on just what was going on with the development of Cross of the Dutchman, I haven't given up on this game, and neither has Triangle Studios! Since their failed Kickstarter campaign, they have been hard at work polishing up the details and adding new content, and today they have announced that their ambitious goal for September is to produce a full blown demo of the game!
The demo will feature a mission that will be set a little bit after the start of the game, and will be focusing on the way that the combat system works. They have posted a few shots of the Triangle team hard at work over on their blog, and they will be posting many updates throughout the entire month of September.
They have also announced that the final draft manuscript of the novel that they have commissioned to tell the real story of Pier Gerlofs Donia, has been finished gone to the publishers for final approval! is available for pre-order from their web store HERE! The book will be available in Frisian, Dutch and English, and the current expected delivery date for the novel is October 2012.
Just to keep you up to date as to what they have been up to since my last update, they have added some of the other basic fighting units to the game, such as Archers and pikemen.

This will definitely not be the typical pirate game that we are used to, but I for one am really looking forward to seeing just what this game has in store. It really has a great story to tell!
