Danielle won't join me!

Hi all,

First off all I'm new to the forum <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> , I visited a lot and I love the site! I play POTC for a short time now, and I think it's a great game! Anyway, I ran into a problem and I can't continue. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ib012.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cry" border="0" alt="ib012.gif" />
I'm doing the "find Danielle" quest, and I sailed to Isla Muelle to ask the tavern keeper about the clay tablets. After that I ask if he has seen Danielle so I go out the tavern to catch up with her. When I go outside I'm immediatly caught in a battle and Danielle is laying on the floor. I killed the 3 guys and saved Danielle. Now that's the moment where she should join me, right? Well, nothing happens! She won't move and I can't talk to her, she just stand there! I tried to go somewhere else, but then I find that every door in Isla Muelle is closed, even the tavern and the port! I have no passengers with me, and I have only 2 ships, so that's not the problem. I have saved games so started again before the fight but the problem stays. I even started over again more previous, when I was on another island, but even that did't work! Every time the fight is over I'm stuck! Am I doing something wrong, or maybe I forgot to do something? Can anyone pleeeeaaaaaase help me with this?!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
I play the original pc game with no mods.

No for danielle , howmany ships you have ??? If you have 4 ships then there is no free slot for her ship - Pinnac - so she can't join you !! sell one of your 4 ships to free 1 space for her . If this didn't work let us know ..

Anway, I only have 2 ships (see first post) so I don't think that's the problem. Is there anything else I can try?
 
Ahoy Sillie34,an welcome to PA,its been a while since I've played de stock version,but I'm sure there is no bug in that part O' de quest,her dialog should open up after ye kill de thugs,it sounds like some files got corrupted on a previous save,try start'n a new game,i know that sucks but many of us had to do that many times <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
She indeed opens a dialog when I killed the guys, something about that it was close or it was getting pretty hot or something, and then the only option for me to answer is: ...
After that I can't talk anymore.
I'm glad it isn't a bug, but it really sucks that I have to start over again! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ib012.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cry" border="0" alt="ib012.gif" />
But I want to finish the game so I'll give it another try!!

I hope you haven't gotten rid of your save game, because I think having the two ships may be what is causing your problem.

Try selling one of the ships and then going back to where you talk to the tavern keeper and then rescue Danielle.

The original game is a pretty tempermental creature and maybe it wont go forward until you clear the slot for your second ship because it wants that particular one.

Ok what happen after you talked to her ?? didn't she joined you ?? you can only check that when you board your ship there you will see the icon of her ship next to yours ... and by the way when I did this part of the game I had two ships a frigate ( mefisto , for me ) and MOW for cargo so having two ships is not the proplem ( I think ) .

I think you're right; I think you can have two ships and still be able to get Danielle to join your fleet, but I'm thinking it may depend upon which of the three other ship slots your second ship is in. Possibly if you have a ship in the slot that Danielle is supposed to put her ship in, that may be what causes the game to freak out. (Try and say that three times, fast!)

Either way, it's worth a try on the chance that Syllie24 wont have to start all over again. I don't think I've heard of a bug in that area, and Danielle standing around without responding usually seems to be related to the number of ships you have.

By the way, how's it going Pirate Sam? It seems to me that we haven't shared any rum in a while. Here's to ya!

No I didn't get rid of my saved games yet, had to work the weekend <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ib012.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cry" border="0" alt="ib012.gif" /> so I didn't have much time to play!
But I will try the option to sell my 2nd ship, I really hope that works! I thought that maybe I could continue my game without solving the "find Danielle" quest, but I bet that my Reputation drops to the bottom in no time! And maybe I have to solve this before I can solve an other quest?
To Pirate Sam: My first idea was to head back to my ship and then see if she was with me, but after I've talked to her, all the doors in Isla Muelle, even the port and the tavern (!), were closed, so I couldn't even get to my ship! Is it normal by t he way that this happens in the game?

Well syllie24 I don't know what to tell you !! It is really strange and never happened before .. hmmmmmm !! When all the doors are closed this mean there is something or missing some where , I really can't tell . Let us know what happen with you .

They just set back and waste a valuble time drinking instead of making their worth the money the get . I tried the option to sell my 2nd ship, so I could free a slot for Damielle's ship, but unfortunatly that didn' work. I' still stuck after the fight is over. Maybe it is, as some of you said, a corrupted save game because I get a black screen when I try to load the part when the fight is over. I guess the only option now is to start all over again <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ib012.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cry" border="0" alt="ib012.gif" />

Sorry Syllie24, But if it is any consolation, I had to restart the original game at least twice.

I thought that a corrupted save game can't be fixed, but after all I'm not so much of a computer expert <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />:
But it's a pity indeed: I just started over again!
Oh well, it isn't the end of the world and who knows, maybe when I do the 'Danielle' quest again, I will run into the same problem! (Hopefully not!) But I'll let you know if it happens again! Anyway thanks for helping me out![/u]
