i loaded it up i dont mean to be rude but its slighty innacurate. this is constructive critizim not insulting your work <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> davy jones dosent have tentacles coming out his chest or his back and the back of his head dosent go down that far and his claw goes up to his elbow apart from that good mesh and im happy you noticed he had a tentacle on his hand usualy people dont notice that sort of thing. :>
 
It's definitly a more accurate model than the one we currently have ingame, so I'd like either to have a better texture for this one so that we could use it, an improved model AND better texture or a new and more accurate model altogether. But I have become so accustomed to seeing these kinds of efforts not work out that I would very much like to at least have a better texture for the model we do have right now. That way at least we have SOMETHING that is better than what we have now. Better things can always come later. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
like i said i can make the better model if someone can send me a character that is fitting over the skeletal in wrl or obj
 
I'm not worried about you being able to make the model; I'm worried about you being abe to put the model ingame. Several people tried to start on Davy Jones, but nobody finished. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
What I recommend is that you try the exporting process as quickly as possible before you spend much time on a model that you might not be able to get in the game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

Just set him as starting model in one of the Storylines files.
Note: the Davy Jones in Alpha 8 isn't very good. We have a better one now.

You need to place model files (*.gm) and texture files (*.tga.tx) to these directories:-
character model (<name>.gm) to *\RESOURCE\MODELS\Characters\
character head model (h_<name>.gm) to *\RESOURCE\MODELS\Heads\*
character textures (<name>.tga,tx) to *\RESOURCE\Textures\Characaters\*
character interfaces (<number>.tga.tx) to *\RESOURCE\Textures\INTERFACES\PORTRAITS\64(128;256)\*

and then add something like this to *\PROGRAM\Models\initModels.c <u>(Not needed for build14alpha8)</u>

am i supposed to have a special program or am i meant to open it with another program if you can help me i would be very grateful
