Hey guys, Im getting back into the game and I was looking at my files I have stored for it. I found Deringer Skinn Modification which I d/l from who knows were but probablly never got around to installing it, I think I know why. It has no readme, I think I figured out where to place the files except some .TGA files.

Does anyone else have this mod and can explain to me how to install it? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

What TGA files are you not sure about placing, Officerpuppy? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> And which Build are you using?
 
Im useing the latest one, but Im pretty sure this mod was deisgined for build 10 or 11 in mind maybe.

For example to replace the english officer there are the following:
h_Offic_eng.gm
Offic_eng.gm
Offic_en77 <-----.TGA
Offic_en77.tga.tx

Offic_en77.TGA should be the same as the .tga.tx one, just in tga instead of tx... Grab the TX Viewer and have a look! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

The other .GM files go into the Resourse/Models/Characters folder  
The .tga.tx files go into the Resourse/Textures/Characters folder  
The plain .tga files ignore they are just there in case you want to edit them[/quote]

It is a skinpack for english and french soldiers... It has a Commodore and Lt. Norrington one too. It's better than JMV's ones, in my opinion.

Well I installed the files for the soldiers but it left me wondering if I have to modify anything in the Progam folder, like any .txt files. The mod does not include any so maybe I dont? Im gonna try it in game <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

<b>EDIT:</b> Nope! Works just fine, no need to rewrite any files, they look sharp.
What might need some file editing are those Norringotn, Garryson skins and the Aubrey one.

Ok those look very nice...How easily are they incorperated into build 12? And how can I set them up how that one guy said he was doing them with each mod packs being used for different parts? Ok Im done asking questions.

Well, to replace the soldiers, just scroll up to the instructions given by Drunken, you'll be basically dropping files in three different folders and you don't have to open up any file to rewrite.

But, as for the main chracter skins such as that of Aubrey etc, although the files go in the same places as the soldiers, I think you will have to open up a file or two and replace some lines, as the following may show:

then i also changed the model in program/models/init.models.c......the file where the tailor shop stuff is.....in order to change it during the game. But i forgot something i know. There is something changed in the build  i did it b4, but dont remember where  

Again, i d like to change the main character, not the normal soldiers  
(it dont works with program/character/character.init.c....that was long time ago b4 the tailor shop came)

Hi Officerpuppy, what happened to your M&C music for PotC, it´s no longer available in the download section. Is there any possibility you upload it again, or if not, mail it to me?

Oh, I know that, the download section on the homepage, I mean. But last time I looked, I could dl the Pirates! Gold and the Movie music, but not the M&C music.
