Dutch problem...

I'm having a bit of a problem privateering for the dutch. I've been conquering towns for them, and they don't ever seem to rise in wealth. From what I gather you need a governor from one of the small colonies to come to a larger town to rejuvinate its economy, but the Dutch don't seem to have any. How do Dutch towns get governors of they have no colonies like the other nations do?

Good question, Fiatil. I guess the only possibility is to wait until (and if) the Dutch conquer one of the existing settlements for themselves (since the AI can do it whereas the player cannot). Just make everyone else weak and hope that the Dutch send their warships out...

Well, I've provided them the tools (in the form of every colony in the eastern caribbean chain of islands), they just need to use them to conquer the settlements near them. S'pose I'll just have to wait and see.

You can also go to a friendly jesuit mision (or something like that)and maby they have a mision for you to take some imigrants to a good town then you bring them to a Dutch town and the wealth will rishe faster. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
