Dutchman

here's the rest of that pic i posted, it doesn't show the mast and sails but shows good detail of the hull.
i'll delete the previous pic

I put Kazeite's sails on the Thomas the Terror Dutchman version and I think it looks pretty darn good, see first two attached pictures. My only comment would be that the sails are too bright green for the ship itself. But is that a problem with the sails or with the hull texture? Would be nice to have the colour of both matching a bit better. Also I tripled the forward chasers and it seems to work just fine. The third picture shows the six splashes caused by the firing of the two forward cannons on the Dutchman.

I now used Razor's sails instead to see what they're like ingame. See attached two screenshots. The colour seems to be the complete opposite of Kazeite's version: Rather than being really quite green, they're hardly greenish at all. It seems that Razor's sails are based on the regular sail texture similar to Thomas the Terror's sails. This in contrast with Kazeite's sails which are completely new with the vine-like texture on it. I'm now going to see what Kazeite's sails are like with Razor's alpha map.

I examined both alpha maps and found that although the centre is different, the edges are identical. Since it was the edges we were concerned about, there is no need to modify anything further. By the looks of it Kazeite already added Razor's edges to his sails, just like was suggested. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

i think kazeite's sails are just fine, the only thing now is to make a new hull texture. also razor's sails are more like the sails from the non-cursed version of the dutchman at the end of POTC 3

well im working on it but i use TTT model and mast and add some sails and that but i cant work on it all the time (shcool and thath u know)
but i work 1-2 hour every day and im dont work slow i want it 100% (or 99 :p) and i gonna upload new sails

Great! Thanks for working on it! Take your time; we're in no particular rush. At least I'm not. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

could you post a screen of how it looks when the triple-guns fire?

something just came into my head:
i doubt it's possible, but can there be three seperate cannon arcs on the bow of each two cannons? that way you could fire two at a time like the real ones. although i think that they'd fire all at once anyway.

on second thought, ditch that, how about this:
really fast loading bow cannons! that way you would have proper guns like the ones on the dutchman. but the trick is to let only those two fire really fast and not the others. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

oooh, my head's bubbling with ideas! i thought i'd just write them down before i forget them.

well, it's not at all certain if it will work. i think that if seperate loading speeds had to be made, it would be easiest to put two different types of cannons on the ship, with a special cannon type for the two bow cannons. now there are two things:

1: how to get two different types of cannons on the same ship?

this is already possible, but the cannons that you add immediatly take the caliber of the other cannons, unless the cannons added are greater in number. actually HAVING two different types of cannon on the same ship will require a different system.

2: how to replace them?

of course, they will break eventually. but how to get new ones, and more precise, where?

EDIT: i told you i was bubbling with ideas. here's the solution for the second problem:

make, let's say, a 100 pound caliber (not actually being 100 pounds, but simply representing the triple guns), which can only be fitted on the dutchman, as only the dutchman has the capacity for them (which will be pre-programmed just like with any other ship) and make the cannons buyable in the shipyard! simply make a new cannon in cannons.ini or whatever the file's called, call it 100 pound gun, give it a short loading time, a long-line-ish range, and possibly the damage of regular 24 or 32 pounders! of course, if you can simply call them triple-guns instead of 100 pounders, that's even better.

I don't think this is very possible. Having different cannon types on one ship is, contrary to what you say, NOT possible. It is a feature people did wish for, but it's not possible. Not without major modding and possibly not even with major modding. Since we don't have the modders to work on these features, I am just going to keep it at six bow cannons for the Dutchman. I wanted to make a screenshot of them firing, but I can't really take a proper screenshot, because either they do fire at once, so you don't see it's six cannons or they fire after each other, which means that you only see a couple of fire graphics rather than the full six of them. In any case: I did upload the Dutchman with the triple guns, so you can try them for yourself. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I personally think it works pretty well the way it is now. The loading time remains the same, but you get six shots instead of two like usual. This is already quite a big advantage in a chase situation. Making them truly gattling-gun like, provided that is possible, would be too easy. You'd just fire and fire and fire at the ship in front of you and it would just be too easy. The way it is now, it's an advantage, but not a ridiculously big one. And it's modded in simply. I like modding things in simply. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

hey can some post a list /links for ALL tools to make/modding ships/Characters plz, then maybe I can make the 100% REALY movie Dutchman

TOOL: Basic modelling (cutting and pasting models) and locator editor
Hexeditor: change the skin used by model
txconverter: convert tga => tga.tx

and when kaziter make d the black pearl did he use only those 3 tools ?? or what more did he use
