Need Help Edward Low Quest

So i started this quest and have been fine with it up until i needed to speak to the shipmaster at Bermuda. I chose the dialogue option "I am a friend of Edward Low" and he tells me to go speak to Jackman, who then decides to set his invincible guards on me. I can't further the quest and i cannot beat the guards, they don't die.
